Most people especially desis are not aware of this, I didnt know about it for many years as well. This is a very sad way to die. Totally unnecessary

It must be like some parts of NYC where it is not safe anytime.

Doesnt mean that she is at fault, just saying that after attacks on Indians 5-6 years ago, its more sensible to avoid situations like these.

GrandMasterSaxy Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 First the Immigration Lady acted rude (I forgot to tick one of the option in the Immigration slip), Same day lady at Virgin counter asked for my passport, I handed it over to her, On seeing my Indian passport she literally threw it in front of me and asked me to open the visa page, I was like WTF. In New Zealand we have signs just before the lane merges into one, I could not find that in Adelaide. When I realized the lane is merging I reduced the speed allowing the car on the right to merge first (zip merge). Lady in the car thought I am teasing her, freaking abused us and showed us the middle finger for absolutely no reason. We did some grocery shopping in Rundell Mall (where we met Rohit with his gf I guess ;)). At the checkout I removed one of the item as it was not required anymore, freaking operator got mad and was acting smart with us. For each item she was asking do you need this ? Do you need this ? until she scanned the last item. People are way too rude What happened? Adelaide is pretty nice. I have been there many times and never had a problem.

A lot of people form India think that Aus is 100% safe and they can be counting $50 bills in the train and nothing will happen, I have seen Indians do it and due to this false sense of security Indians were being targeted. Disclaimer: there were obviously some attacks just to beat an Indian guy

I saw one sardarji in a train talking to his mom about the money transfer, he was so loud even the guy on the other end could hear him. It's not safe to talk all this on phone, even though he was talking to his mom in Punjabi he used worlds like western union, transfer, dollar, everyone around could understand what he is talking about. He was actually inviting the trouble.

But even otherwise, in general, I was treated fairly everywhere. I had fun communicating with British/Europeans. I had a British couple next to me on my plane and they were friendly as well. Aussies? I hear some strange stories. Who gives #*** about AUS. ^ About that, I really don't understand the stupidity of us Indians. How on earth we behave like that everywhere we go is appalling. But that is not a reason for beating people.

But that is not a reason for beating people. on a lighter note, think about someone counting Rs 1 lakh cash in Chandni Chowk openly on a rickshaw, do you think there is a chance that guy will get home with cash? As for UK, I personally didnt like it. People are ok but everywhere I went, it just reminded me of history and how they occupied and ruled over India for so many years. Every palace and every old building made me think that some poor people of India or Africa paid for it with their blood and sweat and probably didnt even get one filling meal a day. I know its very dramatic but thats the feeling I get in London
