Is Mohammad Kaif too joining ICL?

Speculation is rife at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium that India discard Mohammad Kaif is on the verge of signing up with the 'rebel' Indian Cricket League. When asked to confirm the news, a senior Essel Group official reacted by saying: "Can't say anything about it officially yet. Will let you know in due course." The middle order batsman has been out of the Indian squad since November 2006. The UP Ranji captain, who has played 125 ODI games, last played for India at Port Elizabeth against South Africa. Once considered a vital component of the 'Chappellway', he was dropped from the national side following a string of failures in the run up to the 2007 ICC World Cup. And once dropped about a year ago, he rarely came up on the radar of national selectors. If the news is correct then he will become the most capped India player to join the league. It is pertinent to note that the popular middle order batsman was dropped from BCCI's list of contracted players when it was renewed earlier this year. Kaif himself refused to comment on the issue.

If Kaif gets a good deal from ICL he should take his. His chances of coming back to the Indian team are slin to none at best.

Surely not. Kaif is a good player and he has time on his side. Joining the ICL would be tantamount to calling it quits on his international career. I don't think he is that dumb. Besides, he can't even play Twenty20

All crap. Why would he join ICL now ? The series will end in another weeks time and no one knows if it will return. Why risk a possible test recall maybe 2yrs down the lane for a series in which he may never play.

He probably won't .. will wait for another year to see how his 'international' career maps out.. at this point in time a year down the line, if he's not close to making it to the team, he'll jump ship....(provided the ICL is still around ;))

kaif too joining ICL? i just read on TOI that kais is going to join ICL...but when was asked to organizer of ICL said that the deal its not done 100%...when asked to kaif....he didnt comment anything.... wht u guys think???he should or not??he still chance for indian team...??
