Chandan Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 A pop gun attack..... Thats why he skipped Bengal for Pakistan. Well played.. As soon as the new ball taken he is out No way! On 61/4, Akhtar also bowled to him and the ball wasn't that old. And if it was such a pop-gun attack, what does it say about the 4 batsmen who got out for nothing? This was a tremendous innings, that too under pressure when all the experienced batsmen except Ganguly were back in the pavilion. Had it not been for Yuvi, we'd have been bundled under 150. The ball was doing all sorts of things after landing on the patches of live grass, in the first session. But the way Yuvraj dominated the attack--just hats off to him. Well played Yuvi!!

Do you think its time to induct him into the team , looking past the claims of players of Laxman and maybe even Ganguly ? Srikkanth : Yuvraj certainly deserves a place in the Indian playiing 11. Because of Ganguly's return, he is probably unfortunate not to find a place in the 11. But he should certainly play, and maybe will very soon
Mr. Wicket Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 A pop gun attack..... Thats why he skipped Bengal for Pakistan. I've been a critic of Yuvraj for a while, but even I find this ridiculous. Pakistan may have a semi pop gun attack, bar Akhtar, but Bengal barely have one. Bose is a trundler who seams it a bit but can't push the speed gun over 130 (while averaging 46 with the ball this season), Sarkar's about 10 ks slower and Dinda averages 40 in first class cricket with the ball. No comparison whatsover with even a barely fit Akhtar, Arafat who was probing and handy in the morning and his first spell right after lunch, and even Kaneria as poor as he was. Even Malcolm Sami would walk into the Bengal team. If Yuvraj skipped the Bengal game, it was probably because he didn't feel like playing - a question of attitude, rather than trying to avoid a certain calibre of bowling.
Guest HariSampath Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Hope you are very happy now Cheeka :haha: I hope the selectors listen to your opinions more often, particularly on Sehwag...Please call Vengsarkar Cheeka ..
Guest HariSampath Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 It was a masterly counter attacking innings by Yuvraj Singh. No one could have blamed him even if he had just got 30-40 runs coming in at 61-4...but a huge hundred at a Sehwag like pace has placed us in a winning position from a possible losing one at lunch, and in 4 hrs the game was turned on its head. We need this kind of innings to win against Australia, and with Sehwag too at the top we would be better off.
jf1gp_1 Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Excuse me sir' date=' I still maintain, 2, even 10 Yuvrajs wont Replace Sachin.[/quote'] :hysterical::hysterical: today just one was enough
sachin_fan Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 an awesome counter attack by the indians....giving back to the pakis what misbah and kamran did to us. I still dont understand how shoaib keeps getting into the playing 11 and not playing. I think there is a bigger problem with his brain than there is with his back. If he knows he's got a prblm, why join the team in the first place

Raj Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 "Yuseless" haters have egg on their face today.....
kumble_rocks Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Buy , what an innings by Yuvi and Gangs . Yuvi should be played in the playing 11 against Australia . Their is no way in hell , you make him sit out with this kind of form.
gopsy Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Yuvraj batting is Style,Grace personified. Truly a treat to watch . i'd love to watch him under even tougher conditions and better bowlers. i really think after watching this match, he's got more gears in his batting prowess, this innings just tested 50% of his skills. He's just got to be a little more vigilant in Australia to be successful.
chanakya Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 the selectors are in a real soup no make that boiling water now :D
kabira Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 In Australia we will see flat wickets except may be MCG. Yuvraj should love the bounce there. He loves to pull and hook.
living Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 The reason Laxman is replaceable is - The grounds in Aus are soo FACKING huge. Running between the wickets is very important. The way I see it RD was playing superb today and just got a bit over aggressive. SG's running between the wickets is equally bad, however his bowling will be useful since we will always go in with 4 front line bowlers. So its either bye bye Lax or RD opening. REALLY hard decision :hmmmm:
Predator_05 Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 What a crappy innings. His FC average is still 42, you MORONS. That is all that matters. I'd rather have Baidyanath, to be honest. His batting average in FC is 57 !!!! FIFTY-SEVEN !!! THAT IS LIKE....SOOOOO HIGH ! Why are the Indian selectors wasting their time with a sh itty loser like Yuvraj who plays such Yuseless knocks. He only has three ways of playing spin too, what rubbish. My boy Baidyanath scores double hundreds against Saurashtra and Himachal Pradesh - that is the TRUE test of a player's calibre. CAN YUVRAJ SCORE THAT HIGH AGAINST SAURASHTRA AND HIMACHAL PRADESH ? DIDN'T THINK SO ! I saw an 8 minute video clip of Baidyanath on youtube scoring against menacing bowlers like Sulabh Srivastav and Pravin Kumar - he has such awesome backfoot play ! Yuvraj's backfoot play is YUSELESS. Baidyanth for India - DROP YUSELESS YUVRAJ NOW !

Predator_05 Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 You are sure to eat your own words sooner or later. Bullsh it. Yuvraj sucks balls. Did you see how he was padding away Kaneria's deliveries ? That's because he can't play SPIN !!! HOW CAN YOU PICK A BATSMAN WHO CAN'T PLAY SPIN ! Baidyanth averages FIFTY SEVEN and he CAN play spin.

Is not in good taste. Glorify Yuvraj, but why rubbish Badrinath ?
