The reason I have kept Kohli is because of his superlative performances in tests IN Australia, South Africa and NZ. Kohli has scored 5 centuries in 8 tests played IN Australia at an average of 62. He has 1 century and a 90+ in 2 tests played IN South Africa @ average of 68....and 1 century in 2 tests IN NZ @ average of 71. He has been bad in England. Laxman was great in Australia 4 centuries from 15 tests @ 44. He was decent in SAF and NZ with averages of 40...no centuries in SAF from 10 tests and one in NZ from 5 tests. He was mediocre in England. We need a few batters who are consistent performers against the strongest bowling attacks in foreign countries. Laxman has been good but Kohli has been better in this respect with better averages and more centuries already in far lesser tests.
