fineleg
mm, this morning of day3 they showed pitch map of IS' bowling. Not a single ball among 7 overs was hitting stumps, all wide. Not one single ball. Commies were discussing this also. Link to comment
Ram
He is bowling much quicker today, in the high 130s, which is a good sign. But he has been bleeding runs though. Link to comment
apocalypse
Ishant was named as Ishant "no-ball Sharma in a tour match on the England tour and he is living upto his name here!!! Link to comment
Ram
Good over so far, can he finish it ? Link to comment
fineleg
no balls plenty, and meanwhile a bouncer that pitched on wide, wide, wide offstump - not funny! Link to comment
Predator_05
Watching Ishant for the first time. He isn't that bad - just really raw at this stage. For starters, he bowls at a decent pace - he got as fast as 137.9 kmph, and operated in the 132-136 range which isn't bad for a 19 year old. He just hasn't developed that cricketing "brain" yet. His L & L is inconsistent and it's obvious that he just hasn't figured out how to bowl on a pitch like this. He lacks accuracy 'cos he doesn't have a plan in mind - his bowling is all over the place. These things come with experience though. I hope they don't take him to Australia, because he would get killed. But he is one to watch out for. One thing he needs to rectify straight away is his run rup. He bowls too many no balls - unacceptable at this level Link to comment
chunky_lafanga
I think he has potential. Link to comment
Cricketics
EXACTly lufanga.. guy has potential.. bowled a better spell today Link to comment
Desi Cartman
not good enough at the international level!!! if he needs experience then he should playing for India A Link to comment
Guest HariSampath
drop Ishant from the 11 and keep him in the squad will be my choice. One other thing...he has never come here to Chennai for the MRF training, no proper extended spell at all. players like Zaheer, Irfan and Sreeshant have had their careers redefined by Lillee and Sekhar at the camp...maybe BCCI and Venky Prasad should call MRF. Ishant will certainly become a mainline strike bowler in 2-3 seasons, and with some more muscle. He should also be asked to toil it out at the first class level, will make him tougher Link to comment
bharat297
I wouldnt have him as a permanent member of the squad yet. Give him these one off games here and there and let him develop in domestic cricket for a few years before. At 22 or 23 he will be a much better bowler. Link to comment
Cricketics
his figures doesn't do justice today.. he bowled really well today and deserved a wicket or two.. misbah was plumb too.. Link to comment
fineleg
CRICINFO: 92.6Sharma to Misbah-ul-Haq, 2 byes, overpitched and down the leg side, even Karthik behind the stumps barely gets a glove to it after diving full-length. "New ball wasted." mutters my colleague Sriram Veera Link to comment
fineleg
Cricinfo: 94.4Sharma to Misbah-ul-Haq, 4 byes, sprayed down the leg side and no-one will impede this ball's progress to the fine-leg boundary ... terrible bowling here from Ishant I.S. bowled really well today...figures dont do justice! :hysterical: Link to comment
Cricketics
fineleg.. here is one for u Sharma gets faisal.. rofl wrong timing mate a deserving wicket for sharma Link to comment
fineleg
Tics, I have been watching his bowling yesterday and today. Despite this wicket, it is trash bowling. The comments I wrote above are cricinfo descriptions, and I'm sure if you are watching the same match I saw day-2 and day-3, you've seen I.S. "bowl" wide down leg or most likely wide of off stump!:D Link to comment
Cricketics
fineleg.. though he is giving some runs.. he is creating those chances.... he is that quality of picking wickets.. may be in future u would see from him that more often.. Link to comment
fineleg
There you go....look at 96.3 YET AGAIN!!!!! 96.3Sharma to Kamran Akmal, 4 byes, short ball, far down the leg side once more, the ball beats everyone and runs away for byes 96.2Sharma to Kamran Akmal, no run, short of a good length and on the off, the ball jags back in sharply and hits pad via the inside edge 96.1Sharma to Faisal Iqbal, OUT, Ishant Sharma strikes! this one rears off a good length and Faisal has some trouble adjusting to the extra bounce. The ball bobs up to the on side and there's a fielder close to the bat on the leg side just waiting to snap up the catch Link to comment
fineleg
and another... 96.5Sharma to Kamran Akmal, FOUR, short of a good length and outside the off stump, played down past gully 8 no balls so far, he did this in England as well... Won't he work on not bowling no balls? Link to comment
