Surely they did some wrong by luring ZCB despite the security issues, but it takes a lot of courage to attempt to host a home series in such an environment. The country had been longing for international cricket at home for 6 years and PCB finally got a series arranged. That too with the risk that if something wrong happens, the chances for another home series would be even slimmer for at least a decade. Considering PCB's already negative reputation and the ramifications of any security lapse, it is very courageous of them to do this for the betterment of cricket in their country.

Provide as much security as you want, make it a VIP or Presidential while at it but one attack or an attempt of an attack towards the ZIM team will conclude the tour as 'THREAT TO THE PLAYERS LIVES' and that will literally send back pak's chance of hosting anything for a LONG LONG TIME. I sincerely hope that no such attempt is made. Good luck ZIM.

But even if an attempt of an attack occurs, there will be little international cricket in the country for a long time. That would tarnish PCB's image quite a bit. So obviously PCB weighed the monetary cost and potential risks with the benefits and took a calculated risk.

I doubt that they realize it what so ever. threatening other countries to tour them (bd saga) and other comical non sense. all this also impacts their face in a world wide global stage aswell.

They are already at their lowest. They have a horrible image and the whole world is aware of their ineptness. In my honest opinion, they are not out to prove a point to the world (there may be an element of this, but not much). They are well aware that no nation will be willing tour Pakistan for a long time (except for certain bankrupt boards). This tour is an internal political stunt which will help some people stay in power for a lot longer.

Since nobody even bothered about these events, the terrorist bros also gave them a pass. Not much publicity so not worth the effort. On the other hand, cricket's popularity is huge in Pakistan. If they can do something here then they can be in the front page.
