Cricketics Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 For me, there is only one real deal so far among all the youth players. and that is Sanju Samson. He didn't do great this year, but still keeps giving me confidence that he can do it. I am sure this stint in IPL in the hands of Dravid will hand him an Indian cap forever which he would have "Earned" it and not just gained through few IPL performances. Sanju Samson is probably the only deal and we shouldn't bring any youngster like Unmukt or Pandya or Iyer or Sarfaraz, until they start scoring some runs in 50 over domestic or in A tournaments. We have to take risk and show guts and try these guys out, but that can be done at A level first and not in INdian National Team. Sanju Samson though is in different league from these guys. He is mature enough now to be selected for Indian ODI team.

Samson has been poor this ipl season and even his domestic records doesn't stand out. More than his off-form batting, it is his pathetic keeping which is raising big questions for me. He gave away plenty of runs with his weak keeping for RR.
