In Canada....I pay nothing its all covered in my taxes (which are lower than the US).
How is it lower than US? Bought a bottle water from a gas station in Vancouver...was charged 3 different sales tax on the receipt.

maybe thats the core issue. ridiculous salaries for medical professionals and administrators in addition ridiculous cost of drugs. That bill texy has posted, basically can bankrupt most families. I assume people have insurance to cover such bills but clearly even the insurance premiums are going to rise if you end up with a bill like that. You would hate to have a kid who is sickly or gets injured regularly. The medical industry (including pharma) is an anomaly in the USA. On every other metrics be it housing, food cost or electronic goods, general cost of living etc the usa is much cheaper than western european nations. That just goes to show every country has some problems.... the UK has housing problems whereby people cant get onto the housing ladder as its expensive and houses lets be frank are very small by american standards. But your covered in the face of health problems for 99% of the cases. Ie the safety net is much better than the usa.

The way healthcare is billed in America is ridiculous. Sample bill charged by a hospital for a snake bite. BbQgU8a.jpg
