This is where effective governance comes in , to ensure illegal activities do not flourish underground also. The Govt's reluctance to implement a complete nationwide ban on cow slaughter cannot be justified by these feeble excuses. Constitution of India : " The State shall endeavour to organise agriculture and animal husbandry on modern and scientific lines and shall, in particular, take steps for preserving and improving the breeds, and prohibiting the slaughter of cows and calves and other milch and draught cattle."" Successive Governments have completely failed in this regard . Who will take care of old cattle ? already millions in India live in miserable conditions you want govt to take care of old cattle rather than people .even lets imagine farmers start taking care of old cattle , then they will include this cost in milk , which means milk price will go up to 100-150 , are people willing to pay such price? even in nature old herbivours are devoured by predators. you can't continously breed an animal and stop its killing Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes, but when we have so many choices available, we should pick our food keeping human emotions in mind. Everyone loves dogs and cats. Throughout the world, they are loved like family members and they love us back. So eating them does come across as something quite barbaric and cruel. Who is everyone .there are many who hate dogs and cats and consider them as pests who roam on streets . An overwhelming meat-eating majority that has no problem killing and eating other animals will feel disgusted at the thought of this. Why do you think that is? Humans have different emotions for these two animals. Yes there maybe many who hate them, but then there are also people who love lizards and roaches. I absolutely hate cats and dogs. It disgusts me when I see them in somebody's house. What human emotions are you talking about. Start a survey in India and majority will vote in favour of cow slaughter banned many will be disgusted if beef is on their table.
