One pertinent point to note. Most of Pak visitors to Indian cities visit only the ghettos of old Delhi, Hyderabad, Lucknow, etc as they are muslim dominated. This is true of >95% articles of Pakistan visitors to India. What do you expect in ghettos? They never visit the developed areas and even if they do, they will pretend as if they did not as it won't be inline with their agenda.
Nailed it I guess. Why else wouldn't one take a note of some of world's best infrastructure including metro trains, airports, IT parks etc

^^ i don't have an agenda , neither do observers like william dalrymple , it's something even indian journalists and delegates crossing the border notice and mention , look you are free to form your own opinion but personally i think chandigarh and bangalore are the two closest in appearance to a large pakistani city even these two are not close to lahore , let alone Islamabad , the two capitals Delhi and Islamabad present a very contrasting picture . Agree with the fact that India is much bigger and the comparison is probably invalid .

When it comes to infrastructure (public transport - buses, roads, metro train, electricity, commercial spaces, greenery, in terms of being a well designed city - open spaces , parks etc) lahore, Karachi are tatti in front of Delhi. Chandigarh Coimbatore ar small cities much like Islamabad. So you can compare these. You can't compare islamabad with Delhi Mumbai chennai Hyd Bangalore Ahmadabad which are much larger than Islamabad

Indian cities have a large slum spread, but when it comes to development, most Pakistani cities are still far behind. Not to mention that Paksitani cities face the same problems of slums and poverty.

Is this real life ?? Delhi and mumbai are dirty as anything and wrt cleanliness(or lack of it ) are comparable to small cities in Pakistan's interior punjab , the big houses that people like ambani own in the middle of dumps in India and the exorbitant property prices do nothing for the profile , some of the newer localities in Lahore and other Pakistani cities is something you dont find in India . The new airports are a step in the right direction by india , now time to improve the roads , pollution and general hygiene.

Below is some real life hygienic Islamabad for you. Slums and poverty is a part of all 3rd world cities, and Islamabad or Lahore are no exceptions. However, when it comes to infrastructural development, Indian cities are way ahead. 1394700659-4144.jpg5334f03647943.jpg03_11_2013_151_001_001.jpg

^^ googling images using " specific search words" is one thing but the fact that observers are making that comparison and more often than not in favour of pakistan reveals a lot .Look if you belive India is cleaner or "shining" , than fair enough . i sort of agree with people suggesting that Pakistan has a lot of catching up to do with respect to PR , the beauty of the place , especially up north with those massive peaks , breathtaking glaciers , beautiful people is unmatched , the main cities are not too shabby either , in a lot of ways partition was kind to Pakistan ,about time it realizes it's potential .

Congratulations Pakistanis Karachi is ranked as 6th worst city to live in the world - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/property/pictures/9478023/The-worlds-10-worst-cities-to-live-in.html?frame=2311074
The capital of India , Delhi is the world's most polluted city according to the world health organization , leading to lung damage and 1.3 million deaths annually . As i said in the post above , about time Pakistan starts sorting out the mess to tap into the massive potential .

Googling images is not one thing, it is something that shows stuff you want to hide about Paksitani cities. The poverty and the filth above is as bad as I have seen in any Indan city, and thats your Islamabad. As for PR being the only problem, do you really understand what consititutes a modern city? 3rd grade airports/stations, no real transport system, a dying railways... is this your definition of a developed city? Also, get out of your delusions about Pakistan having one of it's kind natural beauty. Reasearch the whole Himalayan Peak that extends from Kashmir to the seven sisters. Far more ethnically and naturally diverse landscapes that Pakistan doesn't have. You only experience a part of it. :)

Amazing how Pakistanis here seem to assume that beautiful mountains and glaciers are exclusive to them. "Unmatched" natural beauty of Pakistan, lol. Look around, explore different places and your will realize how deluded you were.

But Karachi is ranked no.2 in "World's most dangerous cities" http://www.escapehere.com/destination/10-most-dangerous-cities-in-the-world-to-travel/9/
aand Karachi is Asia's largest slum also .
Orangi Town is the largest slum in Asia located in the periphery of city of Karachi, the main city of Pakistan. Two third of Karachi’s population of 17 million lives in katchi abadis (unauthorized settlements on government land) and 1.5 million among them are gathered in the 57 kilometer square of Orangi To

Yes it is, because it's a mini state in itself. And yeah for pollution to happen, you need vehicles and industries in a city. Bombs can only do so much to generate pollution.

Yeah terrorism is a problem , but insane levels of pollution coupled with the reputation of being the rape capital of the world doesnt help delhi and India's cause either when it comes to such observations .
