bones
So the new season is under way. Already quite an important match, if not for the title itself, but the H2H. Novak vs Rafa tomorrow. Edited January 8, 2016 by bones
bones
Well that was a superb display from Novak. He goes ahead of Nadal finally in the H2H. Novak tore Nadal to pieces. It was sledgehammer shots one after the other. In all their matches, never has Novak played as well as this.

bones
Nadal has nothing to hurt Novak. Was only a matter of time tbhI think over the years in their match up two things have drastically changed. Djokovic's serve, which obviously gives him easier holds. The other is Nadal's depth with the FH. Before he could keep Djokovic honest and often blast winners for fun with it, but not anymore. It is too soon to read too much into it, I'll wait until we're at the AO to see where each player is at. But the gap between the two is growing wider and wider. kumar713
That was some hitting from Novak and Rafa didn't play that bad. They showed stats of Novak's Forehand Backhand ground stroke average speed, compared to his previous matches he was hitting it faster. Novak always gets pumped up when he plays nadal. Novak himself said in post match interview Nadal has improved much after US open. So its not a wise decision to count him out. Archiemiz
kumar713
Novak was hitting winner after winners. Nadal couldn't do much or infact none would have stand a chance against that Djokovic. Looking forward to Australian open. Will be interesting to see how the court behaves?
kumar713
Australian open draw out. Federer Novak semi but federer has a pretty rough draw. Murray has relatively easy draw till semi.
zep1706
Nadal has nothing to hurt Novak. Was only a matter of time tbhJust like how Federer has been weaponless against real threats like Nadal and Djokovic in slam. He looked million dollars against his weak era buddies though. Meanwhile Nadal still leads both Federer and Djokovic in slams 9-2 and 9-4. zep1706
Nadal is going down against Verdasco in 5. I think that's it for his career. He just can't play the important points. Won't be surprised if he retires this year.
kumar713
Clay season key for Nadal. If he doesn't make a comeback thats it.

zep1706
Retirement too early IMODepends on the clay season. He is playing at a decent level IMO, from what I have seen post US open. Verdasco is a very tough first round opponent actually, especially when you are down in confidence. When Verdasco plays well he is easily a top 20 player even now. So you are right the clay season this year will tell us how Nadal would end his career. He has to perform, at least he has to stay relevant even if he does not win the big titles. zep1706
Meanwhile Djokovic is in another AO final, absolutely thrashed Federer in the first two sets. His level dropped a bit in the third set but easily closed it out in 4. Just give him the trophy already, there is no one even close to him. kumar713
He totally dominated Roger in the 1st 2 sets. Roger just can't beat Nole in a GS. If Raonic reaches final he might be a tough opponent for Novak. He is serving seriously good. But pressure of 1st major final might be too much for him but to be in that he needs to defeat Murray. Hoping for a block buster semi between Raonic & Murray. Murray might edge Raonic in 4 sets.
Dil Dil India
Clay courter time violator Nadal has been exposed now that the rules have tightened up and players have figured out his moon balling game. Karma for Nadal fans after they kept having a go at Federer when he was 29 and insisted that it was the competition that caught up with Federer. Now Nadal is losing to Fognini, Verdasco at HC slams hahahaha. Djokovic will obliterate this guy's records. A far better player than Nadal and a much fairer player as well. adi B and Archiemiz 1
Sooda
Not a great AO final, Murray had more his fair share of chances in sets 2 and 3 where there were some brutal high quality rallies, the 3rd set tbreak was a bit anti climactic. Novak was below par and Murray could not take advantage. Feel for Andy but happy for Novak. Hope Novak wins all 4 slams this year Murray has the tools to be a very good attacking player- skills at the net and big serve and forehand shouldnt try to out rally Novak as much as he does Edited January 31, 2016 by Sooda

kumar713
Congrats Nole He really needs to win RG. Hope Rafa meets Stan somehow earlier in the draw. One threat will be out. Djokovic sometimes play passive at times hope won't repeat the same mistake like he did at RG against Stan. kumar713
I will be worried if Novak plays the same way like he did in 2nd or 3rd sets yesterday or at times in this AO against Stan. Might get punished badly if everything goes Stan's way. Hope Novak raises at RG.
