The farmer, Ranbir said that about six months ago, he found a sack of potatoes on a road and he planted some of them on a 250 sq meter land. Potatoes, tomatoes, brinjal, and chili peppers all belong to the same family of plants - the Solanaceae or Nightshade family. If potato plants are allowed to flower and set fruit, they will always produce fruit that look very much like tomatoes. But they are not edible.
