Debutant
Also Bhuvi is 25 year old now. His body is matured. Bhuvi at the age of 20 used to bowl 125k. He gained pace as he grew older. If Nathu stays fit and gets stronger, he will gain at least 10k of pace by the time he is 24.Unfortunately Indian bowlers slow down after the initial burst. Link to comment
rkt.india
Unfortunately Indian bowlers slow down after the initial burst. Not really. They only slow down once they play international cricket. Look at BK, he gained pace. There are several bowlers in domestic who gained pace when they grew. Navdeep Saini, Ankit Rajpoot, Dhawal Kulkarni was 115-125 bowler when he debuted at 19-20 years of age. Umesh Yadav and Aaron were same pace of Nathu at 20 years of age. Umesh Yadav's fastest ball in his first Duleep Trophy game was 141K. Link to comment
express bowling
Yes, all below and around 140. Even Bhuvi bowls at that pace now a days.Yes, all below and around 140. Even Bhuvi bowls at that pace now a days.Bhuvi is much older than Nathu whose body has not matured yet.Nathu is a different type of bowler than Bhuvi...hits the deck hard when required and gets bounce. Bhuvi is a skiddy bowler who often just floats the ball. Link to comment
Debutant
That was plumb against Vijay. Lucky. Link to comment

If he can emulate even what Zaheer did in his later part of the career, then it would be great for us. Link to comment

I remember that.135 k to 141 k at the age of 20 for an Indian pacer is quite good. He has bounce too. Link to comment
express bowling
Unfortunately Indian bowlers slow down after the initial burst. We have seen Aaron, Umesh and Shami retain the pace they started their international career with.Ishant increased his pace after playing internationals, lost a bit of it and is back to his full pace now.Srinath increased his pace after a couple of years in international cricket. We have actually seen many many pacers from other countries lose pace too.Finn was bowling 140 k to 150 k one season and now bowls 132 k to 142 k mostly. Broad has lost quite a bit of pace too. So has Siddle, Junaid Khan etc. to name a few.In the past we have seen the same with Lillee, Gillespie, Ntini, Pollock, Marshall, Bishop, Walsh, Waqar etc. who all lost pace even before reaching 30. Mitchell Starc on his debut in 2010 at the age of 21 was bowling at similar pace and I saw Brett Lee too at 21 bowling to teve Waugh looked the same pace.here is the video. Link to comment

He was smashing the ball when Nathu pitched it up, but when Nathu bowled the bouncer he didn't look comfortable at all when playing it. Link to comment
