Few things are called evoving as a batsman, bowler, keeper. Means everything in the basics is intact and with a bit of proper direction, they evolve. Unfortunely, no one has as a seamer in my life time bar Zaheer to some extent. Otherwise everyone, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, Sachin, Sehwag evolved and now Kohli, Rahane. I have some doubts for Pujara. Hope he proves me wrong this season.

But as for Hardik, even his basics for international cricketer is not intact.

Pandya is not a specialist bowler. He is a batsman first. He needs to evolve as a batsman who bats in middle order and bowls a bit in limited overs cricket. We dont need bowling alrounders but batting alrounders.

Sorry to say, but his batting skills are not intact too, Can't face any good spinner, pacer or can't bat on even slightly tough pitches. Means he can just slog. Tukka batting. Such batsmen will rarely succeed, like poor man's Yusuf Pathan. Bowling is worse. Just a few deliveris in 140s doesn't mean much.

Anyway, My purpose was not to criticize Pandya but to drive some other point. He is young and if he improves, good for Ind cricket.

First we should select players like Manish Pandey, Kedhar Jadhav, who have lot of experience playing in domestic tournament.

Then the young players ie Shreyas Iyer, Karun Nair,Mayank Agarwal who have played some domestic cricket & are regular in.A teams.

We should really take a gamble in bowling & young bowlers ie Kuldeep Yadav, Wakhare,Nathu sing, etc should be drafted as early as possible

We need to identify players who have the game to succeed in international cricket.

Such players should be allowed to gather sufficient experience in domestic cricket , A tours  and the IPL if possible.

We should choose only those players for our national team who are reasonably developed as players.

They won't become complete players until they play international cricket for a few years but absolutely rookies should not be choosen for the national team.

IPL experience is sufficient for choosing players for   T20Is.....but not fot test matches and ODIs
