Does it work? 2 ADSL Modem, 1 PC I want to pick and choose the modem I want to use I tried to find a switch on the net but couldn't ( unless someone knows abt it ) So I was leaning towards 2 ethernet cards I am doing so coz Modem A = Faster Upload Modem B = Faster Download

Boss Bhai, I think you may be right, upload/download speeds typically depend on the provider service. But if you folks know otherwise, pls. feel free to correct me.

BB, FL It is MODEM dependant, my service is 3MBPS DOWNLOAD and 800 KPBS UPLOAD I have 2 ADSL Modems D-LINK is MODEM A = Speed Test Gives me 2.4MPBS D/L and 800KPBS Upload THOMPSON is MODEM B = Speed Test Gives me 2.7 MPSB D/L and 500KPBS Upload I upload videos all the time, so I know the difference My inconvienence, I have to get up and remove the ethernet and phone wire of one modem to the other and vice-versa I use MODEM B when I download stuff as its faster obviously So I was wondering if there either a switch where I can select between 2 modems or have both connected to respective Ethernet Card on PC without conflict

Why don't you get a faster connection than paying for 2 ISP ? just curious

ahh ok .... this cannot be done RAjeev ... as only one modem can be active at any time .... it wont even allow you to connect. but maybe u can try this EC1 --> Modem 1 --> Telephone Line EC2 --> Modem 2 --> Telephone Line I think you will have instructions to setup as above ... Now to switch do this from your PC : Goto Start--> Settings --> Network Connections you will see two local area connections --> right click on the one you want to disable and hit disable . You might also need to power off the modem for that connection. when you want to switch again right click --> enable Catch : it may not allow you to plug in 2 modems at a time thru your wall jack. u may have to keep one of the modems powered off. havent tried but thats the logical thing that came to my mind.
Brigade = Its just 1 ISP, and I am stuck for a while as I signed up for a contract where they have a free LCD monitor ------- Bheem = I think you answered it perfectly, there is no specific solution; especially about the modem ..and afaik..no switch availalbe in the market

2 ethernet cards = 2 modems Keep Both Connected ..ie Modem A is connected to Ethernet Card A Modem B is connected to Ethernet Card B Now , go to Device Manager ->Network Adapters-> Selected the Card (that u want to use) ,Right Click Enable. Now , when u want to use Modem B , Disable Ethernet Card A and Enable Ehternet Card B. That's really Simple ..

one more question from my side... i use dial-up connection... i have two phones ( in built-modems) and two different ISPs... i connect my phone with an USB data cable... both phones can be connected to my PC through USB ports... now my question is... can i connect both phones to my PC and use their separate dial-up to connect to internet...and browse the sites with a combined speed of both connections????
