<At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, a whistleblower approached three officials with the World Anti-Doping Agency, the global organization that combats drug cheating in sports. Vitaliy Stepanov was a disillusioned Russian anti-doping agent, and in several meetings with WADA officials held in the Olympic Village in February 2010, he detailed how drug cheating was endemic among Russia’s Olympic athletes and how the government and Russia’s anti-doping agency were complicit.

For four years after those first meetings, Stepanov exchanged hundreds of emails with WADA employees, but the rules-enforcing agency never opened an investigation into Russia’s alleged rule-breaking. Finally, in early 2014, a senior WADA official, convinced his agency would never pursue the claims, directed Stepanov to contact a German journalist, in the hopes that the journalist would investigate them, according to Stepanov and a person familiar with the case who spoke on condition of anonymity. >

<The World Anti-Doping Agency has cancelled its scheduled Rio 2016 pre-Games press conference to avoid it being overshadowed by the ongoing Russian doping crisis.

The WADA press conference had been due to take place at the Main Press Centre on the Olympic Park at 1530 local time on Thursday, a day before the Games opening ceremony.

President Craig Reedie, director general Olivier Niggli and independent observer team chair Jonathan Taylor were due to have appeared before the media.>

There was a documentary where a BBC journalist was able to consistently get/buy performance enhancing drug shipped from China, improve his performance and at the same time passing these standard doping tests.

 

There is nothing that stops a motivated sportsperson/athlete to cheat. 

 

There was a small time when Spanish sports person (Tennis football and la liga as whole) was far too faster and masculine then their predecessors. It all stopped within few years after this guy was caught. Allthough he is being called kingpin, I just think he is one of the pins.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) has condemned Russian hackers for leaking confidential medical files of star US Olympic athletes.

Athletes affected include tennis players Venus and Serena Williams and teenage gymnast Simone Biles.

A group calling itself "Fancy Bears" claimed responsibility for the hack of a Wada database.
