Independence or no independence, Ind has been a poor country. If you want to tslk about independence, there are countries that had been colonized too but doing better. At one point, Ind was rated with China but that myth got busted

Instead of seeing crux of the point, your posts focuses on irrelevant details

The problem is u are making irrelevant and illogical solutions .

How exactly is India is to relocate poverty when under the rule of British .The basic intent of the British is to loot the country .

Then coming with suggestions like abolishing private schools and basing on a country like Finland whose economic structure is completely different from India. These are simply impractical for a country like India .

One thing I do agree , we are completely left behind by China and that's were the lessons should be learn.Drive growth by investing in infrastructure and manufacturing sector .Thats the key for a country like India.

India does provide free education till 10.

The post that you quoted talks and implies about not only making education free but also compulsory. Banning charging of tuitions completely with kids going to the school in their desiginated area (not pick and choose), and improving the quality of education in all these schools

The point on education is about overhauling the system

Again you are providing excuses. Who allowed British to rule for so long

If I m to use irrelevant details as arguments, I could say I mentioned how education system in Norway has been successful (not Finland or turning the country in to Finland)

But coming back to the core points - if asking for policies (read the origibal podt) that improve the quality of life and welfare of the society is being illogical than so be it

I don't want Ind to continue to be a country where kids have to beg, while a few ppl zoom past the begging kids in their Ferrari. A few ppl being able to afford Ferrari while a majority continue to struggle is not the economic development that I m seeking for. Which is one of the reasons, why I want to refocus attention on improving the quality of life of citizens as being #1 priority.

I want everyone to get free quality basic education, have access to basic healthcare/medical facilities, have a secure retirement, etc. While they are working, the working conditions should be fun. All these should be in the backdrop of an environment which provides clean air, water and land. Where citizens keep planet first and give priority to cleanliness

Of course, this is tough and probably opposite of where Ind is heading. But it being tough does not mean, Ind cannot set the idea in motion. Since we discussed independence, that tough idea was floated in motion by someone too despite how difficult it would have appeared. Many folks, like some posts here, would have tried to run the idea down and even join the British to make hay while the sun shines

It's a massive incentive .In my state it was introduced in 1960s and one of the major reasons why TN has high literacy rate ,heavy urbanisation and arguably the most developed state in India .

India had the highest GDP in the world as recently as 1750, which *s up quite a few myth of yours about Muslim rule! As for being a poor country, in that era there was no concept of equitable distribution of wealth so every country was poor from a citizen perspective. However, the current fact is we aren't even at Sahara levels. Zooming ahead!

What is the myth on Muslim rule? .... one of my points is that nothing has changed substantially since 1950s (I posted a clip too), so we are probably on the same page with eespect to economic, social and environmental development. Making Ind and its people "really" better off is the idea of this discussion. And to make people see a different view of development

Good. Meals should not only be provided but also its quality should be comparable to the meals provided by schools in France

Coming back to education, compulsory (and free) education till grade 10 would also mean child labor being abolished gradually

Also the curriculum should also focus on social concepts and skills, cleanliness and green policies, respect for environment and community, ethics, dressing sense, etc. to provide a solid foundation in becoming an accountable citizen without the "chalta hai" attitude

Clinton to focus on making US a clean energy superpower .... as I mentioned, this is one of the areas where Ind should try to leapfrog into
