Caught at silly point trying to defend. 0/1 Test #2: Kolkatta- Sweeps Bhajji for four but plumb LBW soon after. 4/11 - Caught again trying to defend a vicious off break. 0/4 Test #3: Chennai- Stumped first ball off Bhajji: 0/1 Chennai - Smashes Bhajji for a six and gets his HS of the series at 11. Caught in the cordon; 7/11 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Harbhajan Singh got Ponting EACH time he bowled to him in the 2000-2001 series. Ponting did not bat in the Mumbai test....otherwise Bhajji would have gotten him there too. Test #5: Gabba - Takes 8 off 4 from Bhajji (fluke) and for a refreshing change does not get out to him Test #6: Mumbai -Ponting is ready for Bhajji after getting Australian Board to dissect everything about Bhajji's doosra,teesra,chautha and even how he ties his turban in the morning. Grabs 5/5 but falls to Kumble. Takes 2 off 5 before Kartik nails him in the second innings. Test #7: MCG - does not face Harbhajan, whose lip smacks could be heard around the entire MCG - Misreads a straight one and right to Dravid. 0/1 Test #8: SCG - LBW Bhajji inspite of getting an inside edge. Ponting shows the bat to the umpire but the umpire knows that the probability of Ponting getting bat on ball is nil. 10/17 with one four. - Falls first ball to Bhajji popping it to Laxman.
Shehezaada Posted January 5, 2008 Author Posted January 5, 2008 Results And Facts: Let's start with the pros as there arent many: 1) Ponting has hit Harbhajan for a total of two fours, and two sixes in his ENTIRE career of 8 test matches 2) Ponting has not yet committed suicide after promising to battle Bhajji in Sydney. CONS: 1) Ponting has made a total of 28 runs in his CAREER against Bhajji. Tendulkar once took Warne for 58 runs in ONE inning. 2) Ponting's career reads like this: 28/61 balls, 8 dismissals for an average of 3.5 3) Harbhajan has nailed Ponting first ball on 4 occasions, and on 0 on 5 occasions
