There was only one drop off his bowling in the 1st test in Southampton (Jadeja dropped Cook). Drops happen quite often with Indian slip fielders it's not as if he was the only bowler whose catch was dropped. He ended with 0 for 179 in the 1st test where you said he bowled well. In comparison Bhuvi got 4 wickets, so was no way bad than him. In 2nd test he picked 2 wickets for 113 and Bhuvi picked 3 for 75, so again no way he was bad than Pankaj Singh. Also seeing his bowling he was not hitting the deck hard and was not able to bowl an effective short ball in both tests. He was just floating the ball without hitting the deck hard. We already have a floaty bowler in Bhuvi. He beat the bat alot, bowled well, stats sometimes are misleading, last ODI both Yuvi and Dhoni scored big but one inning was dominating and other was scratchy, edges, mishits, alot of people over here had agreed he was good in first test.

I agree he bowled well in patches. Beating the edges and looking good while bowling was done by someone called 'Unlucky' Ishant Sharma for 7 to 8 years, doesn't mean a thing untill you produce results. The example you have given of Yuvi and Dhoni doesn't tie up here because even though Dhoni scratched around he produced the result which is got a century and a big partnership to get the team total to above par.

Selection should be a balanced approach n there should be a vision plan and any good team has to have some good youngsters and this will keep the bench n talent coming rather then drying up, Indian selectors have been very conservative, so was ex captain and did not have a fixed path of selection, also A team selection n ROI teams are feeders so important. Take any good team , you will see young talent being introduced, that can be based on potential . For a pacer a min PACE is required at int level so 80% of domestic bowlers bowling around 120 to 130 are useless, A team should have guys like Sarfaraz, Pant, Nathu, Aniket, Ankit, Ishaan, see how Australia has made a quick comeback n so do NZ based on their backs!IMG young talent. I agree with that. The concept of established teams is overrated tbh, selectors should keep on introducing young talent and mess with a winning team combination. Sarfaraz, Pant and Ishaan should be in place of Vijay, Pujara and Rahul. Kohli saves himself due to the fact that he's the captain whilst Rahane stays in the team due to Mumbai Lobby ™(can only be dropped for another Mumbai guy for eg- Iyer). Aniket and Nathu should be in place of Shami and Umesh. I'd argue that Jadeja and Ashwin should be dropped too and two young spinners(please guys, suggest two names here, don't mention Kuldeep as he's already in the selectors eyes and hence will not be counted as a youngster).
