The Indian cricket team could pull out of the three-nation limited-overs series in Australia if the ban on Harbhajan Singh is not revoked. Top BCCI sources said such an option was being considered by the Board in view of the strong feeling that Harbhajan is innocent and has been punished for no reason without any evidence on the charge of racially abusing Andrew Symonds in the second Test in Sydney. "It is definitely an option if Harbhajan is not cleared of the charge", the source said. The One-Day series also features Sri Lanka. A statement issued by the Board, after a meeting of its working commmittee here on Tuesday night, which gave the clearance to the Indian team to play the third Test beginning in Perth on January 16, significantly said that the tour of Australia should "continue for the present". The statement also said the BCCI "will review the tour and all other developments continuously", an indication that tough options are not closed. Cricketnext...
