Just got really angry for a moment there... there really are big implications beyond cricket in the national relationship and Ponting just doesn't get it. Why hasn't he shown leadership and travelled to Canberra to meet with Kumble. Imagine how Bradman or Benaud would be handling things right now. Have to stop... getting angry again

As Cricket is the game of life, and we have been talking about the different ways the teams play cricket, I wonder the contrast in Indian business people vs. Australian business people? There is a big steel company (not TATA, not WIPRO... someone else about to buy Jaguar in Britain; I love it!). Getting angry again... Ricky!!! :two_thumbs_up: Anyway I am really looking forward to Perth. I do not know who to barrack for because I think the game will be best served if India win. This streak has been set up by Langer, Warne, McGrath and am not sure the current team deserves to be in the record books for a world record?

Concentration is one of the key aspects while batting and dismantling the opposition by messing their concentratin is part of the game. Mind games as in throwing in a bouncer here and there, adjusting field settings to confuse the batsman, yes. Not sure what mind games you are referring to though.

Gomes picks up the ball, throws it back to Marshall, who promptly walks away to his marker and stands there, glaring at Jimmy as the physio attends to him, even tapping his foot to show his impatience. After 10 minutes, with Jimmy 'patched up', Marshall runs in and bowls another bouncer (which Jimmy hooks for a six). Mate, thats how adults do mindgames. Not talking cr@p when the camera is not on you and then running in to throw in a few meaningless words of 'concern' when the batsman is felled by a bouncer coz now you are on tv. That is called immature, pretentious and limellight-hogging. Notice that Australia is by far the most hated team for the last 10-15 years. Don't give me the cr@p about 'oh thats coz we are #1 and everyone hates #1 teams' - West Indies in their glory days were a stronger and badder(on cricketing terms) team than Australia and yet they were universally adored. Its all about attitude and the attitude of your sporting culture by and large, sucks. In the entire spectrum of Aussie sports, take out Rod Laver and Pat Rafter and its by and large louts who play sport- from Ponting, McGrath to Philipoussis, Hewitt, etc. Sorry to say, but your sporting culture leaves a lot to be desired for in terms of civility.

And that between the lines of this whole debate, and at the heart of each countries frustration with Australia, is that they can handle losing to an exceptional team, but they are sick of being bullied? I think we are just so used to it we take it for granted. Its just part of growing up here... take it like a man, don't be a dobber, don't whinge like a sissy, take it on the chin, we were just taking the piss, taking the mickey... Your from Sydney aren't you? Isn't there a big 'shock jock' radio commotion at least every few weeks about intimidation and bullying and what to do about it?

There have been many of us who have soundly criticized Indian players at various times. I already pointed out some instances in another thread regarding the Harbhajan and Ganguly incidents. Browse around and read around more to see that the site is a melting pot of divergent opinions.
