CoA issues diktat, takes away all functioning powers of BCCI office-bearers

This needs to be resolved quickly. This infighting cannot go on indefinitely.

Yes, this needs to be resolved. Coa has managed to maintain a nice upper hand by dictating terms and making major impacts (like even stripping BCCI members from their powers). This is a boss - junior relationship and it is important that the boss or supervisor (Coa) is understanding the concerns of BCCI (junior) and vice-versa. In this case too the supervisor is enjoying the upper hand and dictating (nothing different, those who have more power will dictate). However, it is important that both the employees are working towards a common goal.

Agreed. CoA has some valid concerns that do need to be addressed. Moreover it is to the interest of BCCI to implement reforms quickly so that this committee s disbanded. This committee should not be there forever.

Moreover supreme court needs to come up with timeline and when this should be all over. This is going on waaay toooo loooong.

What the COA managed to do is that no IPL betting or fixing happened in past years. This imo is a great thing for Indian cricket as we now have a totally clean IPL unlike under previous administrators. No other fans can point a finger towards our IPL now. Previously it was like the IPL was always in doubt and even the players were proved in court to be fixers and some management found as betters.

Supreme court came because of betting. All the interference started there and rightfully so imo. BCCI cannot say the player or management of IPL franchisee can do anything against the law. Court will have to intervene and has to. BCCI must be hating Cricket Enthusiast for all this. Couple of men from the franchisee management are the crux of this problem. Had they been clean, this would never have happened.

Only way to fix betting problem is to make it legal. I know this sounds strange but that is the only way forward. Betting should be legal and govt should tax it.

Issuing a fresh set of directives on Thursday, the CoA decided that the office bearers cannot convene any meetings including working committee or selection meetings, or conduct any travel without getting prior consent.

Seems to over the top IMO.

Also Edujili received a lot of flak for giving a 15 lakh purse to her sister who only played on test match in the 70s, who is to say the Coa is free from conflict of interest and corruption? Should the supreme court step in again and have another committee look over the Coa to make nobody in CoA has a conflict of interest? meanwhile ICC will continue to think of new ways to take away more revenue from the BCCI, and the revenue the IPL is making will not be spent on domestic cricket due to uncertainty and past lawsuits which the CoA refuses to actually address.

Seems like the "Supervisor" were asking for reports and the "Junior" did not used to revert with one on time. Got sacked.

Betting should not be made legal imo. We will see more "Cricket Enthusiasts" in IPL franchisees and owners if betting is legalized.

The two parties (Supervisor and Junior) have to resolve the disputes amicably. That is the only way forward. BCCI should be doing there work on time, otherwise they will struggle more. It won't be tough for the SC and COA to remove them as they have already shown by removing even a powerful administrator like Srini. Now the power of these bunch is also redundant. Clearly this is a game like minnows versus powerful team and no doubt the team with more power has won on 9 times out of 10.
