Ram
What a bitter sweet moment for all csk fans! There's obviously the sheer pride of being represented by the BESTEST t20 team in all of the world, but also sadness that we will probably not see this team in the same form ever again. But the time that they were around, what a unit they turned out to be. If there were two adjectives that describe this team the best, it's ruthless and professional. And if there was or player who typified this team's approach the best, it was Michael Hussey. The way he sat out for most of the games without complaining and yet seamlessly made the transition into the team was so awesome. The best part of this team's success has been the strong contribution of the local madras contingent. Make no mistake, guys like MSD, Raina and murali were the linchpins of the team but neither this win, or IPL 3 victory would have happened without the contributions of the homegrown gang. And how fitting it was, to see madras guys sweep all the top batting and bowling honors in the end! As time went, the team's local flavor kept getting stronger and stronger. Thank you csk! You made us all proud! After all, great fans do deserve a great team! :csk:

Sachinism
Only players retained would be MSD ' date=' SRT and maybe Veeru ...[/quote'] Don't see Veeru staying at DD
diegovegaz
as far as i last read, maximum of 4-5 players can be retained so probably dhoni, murali, doug bollinger, raina and ashwin perhaps are good ones to be retained
Ram
These 5 guys will be hot property in the next year’s auction – Raina, Ashwin, Murali, Vijay, Bollinger/Morkel. It will take nothing less than a miracle for Chennai to retain even 2 of the 6 guys in this list because not only do the new teams would be sitting on a mountain of fresh cash that they would be eager to spend, even current team like KXIP and KKR that have had disappointing seasons so far would be after these players in a frenzy. Of course, Chennai is 1000% sure to retain Dhoni. If there’s no MSD, there’s no Chennai Super Kings. Question is, will they try to keep Raina as well? More importantly, will Raina want to stay with the CSK? He’s sure to get top billing, especially with Pune and Ahmedabad. Maybe he wants to be captain of another team, who knows. But unless they decide to retain any of the two, CSK is sure to lose Ashwin and Vijay, especially Aswhin. And in my book, it would be the right decision for these two young men if they choose to leave CSK for a more lucrative contract. I am sure they love Chennai as much as the next guy, but they also rightfully deserve every opportunity to get maximum dividend of out their careers at this stage. Ram
Raina clearly has captaincy ambitions. He's now 23 years old and a 5 year old pro in international cricket. He would want to break out from the mould of being grouped with the other youngsters and take a more high-profile role in Indian cricket. There's no way that is going to happen as long as he remains in MSD's CSK. Given he's IPL's MVP batsmen, Pune/Ahmedabad would be desperate to draft him in and captaincy might just be one of the many perks they would be willing to offer him. So for all practical purposes, we have seen the last of Raina in a yellow jersey.

SachDan
Kochi has a repulsive force in the form of Sreesanth :cantstop: Seriously I won't be surprised if Kochi team ignores Sreesanth. Main reason being he's not having best of relations with KCA, especially with its president T.C.Mathew who seems to be having a fair share of say in the making and running of Kochi IPL team. Also Sreesanth's presence/absence will have zero effect on the popularity of the team since he has more "haters" than fans in Kerala. btw anyone who follows Sreesanth on twitter must have noticed how busy he's nowadays retweeting SRK. All indications are there he's fast heading to Kolkata cometh next season!

What about IPL 1? From what I remember KKR started off with a bang in the opener and then faltered majorly. One prob with the team seems to be that they pick international players who aren't available full season.

In IPL 3 we finished 5th with 14 points. Please correct me if am wrong. The major problem of the team has both been SRK and Dada TBH. SRK should not have roped in Buchanan as a coach, and Dada should not have brought in all his 'Loyalists' of Team India into KKR. Foreign players are an Issue true, but in IPL 3 most were availble but they failed miserably. Our two main problem is Lack of Quality Indian Middle Order players and Good Indian bowlers. girishk14
Ashwin n Vijay shouldnt leave chennai. In fact, DK shud be brought in as a batsman into the chennai team, to replace srikkanth or parthiv or even badri. Its not a good idea to have fresh auctions....It just kills the brand value. Im surprised KKR want auctions after they have the best brand value in IPL. I read long ago, Kochi want Mahela as captain...looks they might bid aggressively for him. After all, if the teams retain their present captains, there is hardly any good captain material left - except maybe Mahela, Gayle, Mike Hussey, Smith
