i dont understand why everyone keeps talking about his captaincy. that is not the issue here. ganguly was a good captain but was removed because of poor form. the same should be applied here. it just takes an average captain to manage a team of matchwinners. its not a specialist position.

When dada was dropped even India's form as a team had dipped. We drew level a series against Pakis at home,lost the one-day series against them then in SL and in Zim. Before that as well we did poorly in CT in England and so forth. Also there were questions lingering on his fitness,form and attitude. All these issues considered together are good enough to drop anyone. Now tell me does Dhoni or his captaincy fall under any of these categories??

We should've won that series 1-0, I'm still PO with our horrendous batting in the 2nd inning :mad: but that's besides the point. :(( BTW we won 2 ODIs in a row against pak IIRC and then dada was banned for slow overrate or something. Then RD took over the captaincy and we lost the rest 4 in a row :hmmm:

No Blind Dada fan will call him a beter DI captain than Dada. So get your facts right before you talk. I can only sense your opinions as of a Blind Dhoni fan, nothing less.

And anyone who goes through some posts in this thread will obviously notice who are the people getting their knickers in a tiwst just because a poster said Dhoni is a great captain!! Why just this thread, go to any thread where Dhoni's captaincy is being disucssed and the pattern becomes obvious!! And BTW by belittling the achievements I meant bringing terms like opponents being weak, hapless, missing players etc!! End of the day India is winning, I dont care for anything else. We always say we made it to the 2003 WC final, do we ever say we beat Kenta of all teams in the semifinal? No, becuase saying anything like that is "belittling" the achievement of team India and Dada's leadership.

We discuss about a lot of things, captaincy of dhoni is just one thing. Obviously, when some people start posting "zooomg the best test captain eva!", and since this is an open forum, I didn't know that it was a sin to question that, and obviously that makes me a blind dada fan/blind dhoni hater. About the 03 world cup, beating kenya in the semis made our tasks easier, but we won against all teams but australia before entering the semis. So were indeed the deserved finalists. And about India winning being your only interest, yeah fine, mine too, but what's then bragging about dhoni being the best test captain evaaa?

Show me one post where i have mentioned such thing. And i dont need to wake up, you should actually. I have not brought Ganguly in any discussion, what i said is past captains did beter or similar to what Dhoni did. Now Past captains do include AK, SG and RD. It was you who was calling us Dada fan etc etc. I dont need to be a Dravid fan to call him our best plyaer from 2002-2006. I dont need to a Tendulkar fan to call him the greatest in the world. I dont need to be an AK fan to call him our best ever bowler. So You should stop categorsing Indian Cricket fans as Fan boys and argue on the basis of facts if you have any. If you dont have, calling others fan boys just make you look amateurish in the middle of a discussion.

Ganguly had pros and cons as a captain. There were issues during his captaincy too' date=' [b']and politics played by Ganguly. Anyway, some people wont accept that Ganguly had several flaws as a captain, and that is a tired debate, so I dont have the interest to reopen the arguments. But saying Ganguly is the best captain is something that can be argued and has been argued in the past too.

If you have proof come up with it, If you dont have i dont mind as you guys were Vocal about Tendulkar too in the past calling him Selfish, Playing for money etc. Talking about Ganguly being the best captain - I'll be talking about results not assumptions of your own. If you have results and stats to counter them come up. Else dont.
