Sean Bradley
We played Pathan' date=' Dinda, Balaji, Bhajji and Chwala yesterday. Thats 5 bowlers. It worked as well Only changes there should be Zak for Dinda and Ashwin for Chawla. Maybe we can drop Balaji for Tiwari. But one thin is for sure, both Viru and Gauti cannot play in such awful form.[/quote'] Viru is not out of form, he is throwing away his wicket, out of form can be categorized as, struggling for timing, struggling to move feet, struggling to watch the ball to the bat, Sehwag showed splendid touch against Pakistan, against Afghanistan hit couple of crisp boundaries before he got a good delivery from the bowler, if anyone, it was gambhir, who was out of form, but showed good signs against poms. It will be a crime to drop sehwag against Pakistan, their best bowler gul shyte in his pants at the sight of him, sehwag has a big impact on pakistan psychologically, go with our best bowlers, and we only have four of them, balaji, chawla and dinda are crap tbh Link to comment
Sidhoni
Agreed. Sehwag is a must against Pak but then Gambo has to be dropped. He nearly screwed us yesterday and if not for Rohit and Dhoni in last overs, we might not have reached even 160. Link to comment
GautiMaan
Did the Pathan experiment really fail? I think he did alright, played the short bowl well and showed intent. It might not be a bad idea to persist with the ploy and play 5 bowlers Pathan Gambhir Virat Rohit Yuvi Raina Dhoni Bhajji Ashwin Balaji Zak If Harbhajan fails against quality players of spin,Sehwag comes back Link to comment

Crookbond
The average number of balls Sehwag plays is 15. Link to comment

Needforspeed
The sensible thing to do would be to continue with the experiment. Only change - replace Dinda with Ashwin and Balaji with Zak. But the strange politics in the Indian team will mean Sehwag and 4 bowler combination will be back. Link to comment

Gunner
Dhoni will go with 3 specialist bowlers and 2 allrounders - Zak, Bhajji, Ashwin and Irfan & Yuvraj. Link to comment
CSK Fan
He played out 2 overs from Finn which really helped India Link to comment

MS Dhoni in the post match presentation ceremony People might say we were slow for the first 15, but we were not over-aiming. We had five bowlers, we knew that. It was a difficult decision, but we requested the seniors to rest so that we could pick the best XI. And we opened with Irfan because he is a gutsy player. He may not look pretty, but he responds to the call. MS Dhoni will definitely want to like it that way but who can stop Najafgarh Nawab and his poke outside the off stump buddy to stop sniping at MS Dhoni in the press conferences. You can criticize as much as you want but I have to give it to this man & appreciate his tolerance for such people in the team's best interests. Link to comment

Rameshraja17
Dhoni shoulld not pick Three genuine spinners . if the pitch favours pace then we might not have the third pacer. but we always have yuvi , raina and sehwag who can spin . so no need to leave any batsmen. Tough choice to make is between Bhajji and Chawla :hmmm: Rohith should have not promoted to bat before raina / yuvi who has better record. Dhoni making it more difficult by promoting him up the order every time , just to prove a point. if we getta good start Raina should always bat before rohith as he s a better starter than rohith who need two or three overs to get settle in. but if Dhoni picks three spinners( as he always does , by taking decisons that surprise others at times ) then i would prefer Rohith to sit out. Though he played well Link to comment
JourneyMan
If Sehwag is in, he should open with Irfan. Right and left combination, both of them more ambitious than GG in the powerplay. Link to comment
NareshK
I think the experiment failed and even if it didnt, there is not much sense in going with Irfan when you have several better batsmen down the line. You dont need pinch hitters in T20. Effectively, everyone is playing like they would play in the first power play and the death overs in ODI. You just need good, attacking batsmen playing proper cricket shots. Margin of success is higher with this approach than wild slogs. Link to comment
chanakya
open with Kohli and Gambhir. Dinda V Balaji is a tough choice. Dinda needs someone to tell him before every ball, the guy has no brains. He kept bowling short not a single yorker. He was bowling yorkers at will in West Indies. Saved a game by giving just 3 runs in the last over against WI-A Link to comment
asterix
first dhoni should drop himself. Just being a top class WK is enough for him to be in the team.. His Wicketkeeping for spin bowlers is crucial.. He should not come up the batting order. Let UV & Raina come ahead.. BTW Dhoni & Raina is the best pair to finish the innings... Both run hard and can hoik the ball... Link to comment
