jairamesh
Rahul Gandhi appointed Congress vice-president, to lead party in 2014 :yay::yay:, so what's next acting party president http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Rahul-Gandhi-appointed-Congress-vice-president-to-lead-party-in-2014/articleshow/18080828.cms NEW DELHi: Congress general secretary and party president Sonia Gandhi's son Rahul Gandhi has been elevated to the post of vice-president in the party on Saturday. Congress spokesperson Janardhan Dwivedi announced the decision by the party working committee to promote Rahul to the post. It is learned that defence minister AK Antony had proposed Rahul's name for the post. Earlier, amid talks that Rahul would be given a larger responsibility, clamour for declaring him as the Congress prime ministerial candidate grew louder at the party conclave in Jaipur on Saturday. Union ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia, Rajiv Shukla, Jitin Prasada, senior leader Manishankar Aiyar batted for larger responsibility for Rahul as the party recognised the need to respond to the demands of "new changing India peopled by a younger" generation. Surely time for Rahul Gandhi to give his first interview ever :orderorder: Give his thoughts to the legion of young voters and convey what he stands for. Sachin=GOD
anyone still thinks he won't be the PM candidate in 2014.... BTW he is probably the only person to become the vice president of a national party without having uttered as much as a single quote on national issues in 10 years in politics :hatsoff:

jairamesh
Every nook and cranny of Congress giving interviews why Amul baby will be potential PM, but Amul baby himself still wrapped up in cotton who is still learning to utter his first words. If only we had US style TV presidential debates for PM candidates.

The Outsider
If the 2014 election does turn out to be a choice between a genocidal maniac and an incompetent fool, I know who to vote for.

seedhi
Lol at the assumption that projecting a 42 year old heir amounts to meeting the aspirations of the urban young generation .. Still, if RG is projected he is likely to end up as the PM anyway .. the urban youth is still only a minor electoral factor.
saneindian
Why not the PM candidate as well? Are they still not sure or what? Also isn't it ironical that Sonia Gandhi the other day was talking of rewarding good performers and next day promotes her son under whom the party lost the three elections in UP, Bihar and TN where he controlled everything from candidate selection to campaign strategy? He will be the next pm from congress. Mark my words. If they win in 2014 or lose in 14 but win in 2019, doesn't matter. Only reason why he is not projected as the pm is because they are not sure whether they will win and they dont want to start on the wrong foot. Pretty clever actually. jairamesh
Let's be honest, if I were a one of the bunch of thieving corrupt scum cabinet ministers then what better way to continue your thieving ways are there, than by picking an incompetent moron as your leader. The current stooge of a PM has set a great precedent. PM ho to aisa. :isalute: It would be stupidity from Congoons to pick a morally strong leader with ethics and vision. Though it is a shame good potentials like Jairam Ramesh or Chidambaram will never get power in Congress party.
Clarke
^ You're right about Jairam, he's the cleanest & the most intelligent minister in the cabinet. PC on the other hand holds immense power. You don't get to move around Finance & Home ministry just like that.

You don't get to move around Finance & Home ministry just like that.[/quote'] True that there is some controversies surrounding Chindi, but at least he is million times more competent than moron Amul baby. But don't expect any logical decisions from the champagne socialist party, Congress, with communal leaders and alliances oozing out of their every orifice that would give the Nazis run for their money, not to mention with mass murderers in their government. Goebbels would have been proud of today's Congress establishment.
Clarke
^ I didn't like the comparison at all, but they've made courageous decisions so far. FDI in retail for one, railways & fuel prices as well. That's not bad at all despite having 2014 in mind.
