Winning big moments- I look back at how they select teams . Go a few years back and remember tom moody selection for World Cup . Many were surprised . But he turned out to be the most imp player imo . Australia always has consistent selection policies , is able to put players to retire or move out once past their prime . In a way , it’s a great style of management . Once team is right , they are more likely to win key moments . Did anyone expect nri kohli to win any key moment in this test cycle . Samson , jurel and many younger players deserve to be playing . I do think that our sifarishi - seniority culture is one causing us to not tell people to quit . I feel IPL teams are better managed . Rahul being fired from Lucknow is a good example .

I have been following cricket since 1996 regularly . My memories are that of the Aussie team and how over the years they keep on winning. India has improved vastly but a few key differences are very notable . A- superstars retire in Australia in their prime. Gillchrist , pointing are prime examples of people who quit almost at their peak . compare - kapil , sachin , kohli - india has had a long list of players who are held on , not questioned about their place even though they are past their prime . B - media treatment our media treats players like gods and demons based on performances . Words like king kohli are thrown left right and centre but pauper kohli was never coined when his returns have been marginal . Note lack of any major media outlet asking for kohli and sharma to sit out of the Aussie series . c - stagnation of talent jurel is a good case that comes to mind recently . Clearly he is one of the best players of spin etc but note rahul being brought back at his cost even though jurel is clearly in form . Samson is another case . Ideally , kohli , rahul should not have been selected and I am pretty sure we could have had better results 4 pitch doctoring I think we tend to make too much Toss dependent results . Not seem australia try to make it harder or easier . Their pitches are consistent .

Agree with Gavaskar . Super fit players ain’t the norm in cricket . But even then u need to be fit . Given amount of money they make , it’s not hard to hire a nutritionist and invest in body . Sarfaraz khan was not selected due to selectors keeping old non performing duds like kohli . Rinku is an example of a cricketer who will miss out for the oldies

I think that injuries part and parcel. Upto age 25 fast bowlers tend to get injured. Body matures and then u get the best out of them . Bcci has been rotating them ok . They lapsed in getting Mukesh etc in when they needed to groom faster guys .

Big game talker. Nothing else . Will do some antics and then get out and pretend as if it was a magical delivery . sorry dude , his time is up . Mayank , harshit , deep lots of new options . Have patience . They change bowlers faster than batters . It should be other way round . Our losses are mainly from lack of batting . None of our players batting pant and jaiswal are world top 10 imo. Persistence with kohli is 90 percent of the issue.

U are missing the point . no unesh , Shami will win u matches if u get 46 all out or get out to full toss like kohli . Our batting was the issue . kohli , rahul and even rohit are walking ducks. Jadeja , ashwin and pant saved us defeats last 3 years coupled with Axar and jurel etc . The bowlers - new ones like harshit , akash , siraj etc are ok . Shami , Umesh , Ishant and bumrah was a once in a generation pace quartet . Hard to find Umesh and Shami tbh but it’s unclear why kohli and rahul are still selected for Australia . Off all the series losses in have seen in last 20 years , this one hurts the most . Causes - clearly our batting . Rahul , kohli have been failing us time and again . Rohit is old now . y jaiswal bailed us against England with jurel and bit of khan . Kohli should have been dropped but nobody seems to say it out . Hope to see the last of kohli and rahul at least for Aussie . Bring in rinku , promote sundar , play Samson in tests . Our batting failed us . And yes , batting first in Bangalore will be the worst decision tactically India has ever made

Reasons for wash success - a- high release point with accuracy and high speed b - support from other end ashwin c - over spin . Didn’t undercut the ball except when he wanted to get it to go straight d - pitch was dry and supports spinners who can extract bounce . Jadeja looked ordinary cos he doesn’t get that kind of bounce . Axar would have gotten as many wickets as wash on this pitch e- nz batting . Except rachin , all were average washington has been a very good bowler since he arrived . V good line and length . No surprise he got wickets as this was the first time he was chosen as a frontline spinner

Kohli .. he doesn’t have to face new ball , goes missing in imo matches and can’t remember is last 5 years when he played a match winning knock in tests . Or even t20 rinku singh entry delayed due to kohli. I would even take pandya as a pure batter in tests .

Chill gambhir is smart and bringing in sundar today is part of masterplan in Australia Jaiswal rohit sampson as reserve opener gill kohli pant Sarfaraz jadeja / sundar thakur bumrah Akashdeep Siraj / Shami / mayank ashwin / Kuldeep rahul / ruturaj / eshwaram team will be good . Kohli is my only worry .
