Australia fumbled an easy 5-0 by preparing this pitch -
Even professionals failed to acknowledge the role played by Bharat Arun during that time. Shastri's biggest speciality that he worked with some of the best staff without influencing them too much. Something that Gambhir and McCullum can't do, they want to be central figures. I don't think Shastri himself was that great

Pretty incredible as Natarjan and Saini never played another test after that.

That's not random though. Everyone knew what he is gonna do, even after a bad start.

There is a Lance Morris in their domestic circuit. Out due to back surgery. -
Indian domestic pitches are batsmen's paradise now.

Bowlers gave them a good chance. But their batters can't save them on this pitch -

Batting today is tougher than in 90s. Good revelation.

Brook is the stupidest batsman to average 50, ever. -
How do you know it is ego and not his playing style?

Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre should be inducted in tests

Not big? It is the biggest record ever. No one ever thought anyone will come close to Sachin. You need to be elite and maintain it for long to be able to catch him. People still bring it in casual cricket discussions out of context. -
Joke of a match. His wasn't even the fastest 100 in the innings. They reached 574.

@New guy, @Suhaan, @rkt.india, @Gollum, @maniac Do you guys think Ponting, Dravid, VVS, Sangakara had fair records and performed everywhere? Ponting was poor in India, Dravid failed against the best attacks he faced both in England and Australia, his runs came mostly in that 2004 and 2009 flat road series where everyone was scoring. Kallis was more consistent but he hardly converted his fifties in low scoring series. Only Sachin and Lara were better batsmen than these, but they too statpadded a lot. Sachin has two doubles against Zimbabwe. Lara's 400 was in a drawn match where 1400 were with 22 wickets. Is there anyone who is perfect in that sense?

What exactly is this very recently developed bitterness against Root among Indians. We used to love him earlier. Smith and him easily. No one else comes close. Who do you even nominate? -

It's funny to call him a blind slogger or tulla. Do they realize hitting sixes against international bowlers at 14 isn't normal? Hack or whatever -
Our spin stocks are empty. Since Ravi Bishnoi, our youth teams haven't got any champion spinner.

14 year old scoring a century, making Rahul Dravid jump from his wheelchair. That was fun to watch, and memorable. Who knows it maybe the biggest watershed moment in Indian cricket since long. -
Personal preferences aside, I can't fathom why people hate on players just for breaking their favorite's record. No amount of cherry-picking can change the fact that Root is a great.
