22 killed at a Shiite mosque in Pakistan

At least 22 people were reportedly killed after an explosion targeted a mosque in northwestern Pakistan. Dozens were injured in the blast, which has been claimed by the Taliban. The attack took place in the city of Parachinar as people gathered for Friday prayers near the women's entrance of a Shiite mosque in the central bazaar, according to Reuters. 

 

A medical source cited by AFP put the number of injured at 57, including women and children.

Parachinar parliamentarian Sajid Hussain, cited by Reuters, described the blast as a suicide attack, noting that gunfire preceded the explosion.

 

Authorities in mainly Sunni-Muslim Pakistan said a military rescue helicopter had been sent to the scene, which is in a remote region near the Afghanistan border. In February, more than 80 people were killed and dozens wounded in an attack on a crowded Sufi shrine in southern Pakistan that was claimed by Islamic State. In January, at least 21 people were killed when an explosion hit a vegetable market in Parachinar, the capital of the Kurram tribal region, where Pakistani security forces have battled militant groups for years.

 

Looks like jihadis can't find enough Hindus & Christians to kill so they have turned on their own people.

And to think their Qaid E Azam was a Shia and sole Nobel Laureate was an Ahmedi. Both communities are open target, Christians and Hindus have it even tougher there. Sunnis are a real threat to world peace and stability.
