for that he has to actually make the test squad  and play ahead of AShwin and i still dont see it because they value Ashwins batting a lot even though his bowling is pedestrian outside SC

Ashwin's batting is not that great to overcome his mediocre performance with ball, they are already carrying one dead weight in Pandya why should they add another one in Ashwin.

 

I think they already missed the trick by not playing him in test series in SA. I have no doubt he would have done better than Ashwin.

he would probably have done better, but Ashwin is quite a handy bat in non-SC conditions. this is probably why he'll end up getting selected ahead of kuldy even in eng and oz.
