Desi Cartman
who knows mate , I wont be surprised to see Sachin here one more time.. He hasnt said anything to suggest that this is his last test series in Australia Link to comment
Bumper
I doubt the next series Down Under will be such a keenly watched contest. Big names from either sides wont be there. Besides, in general, I doubt whether Australia will be as big a force in Test cricket, after Ponting, Hayden & Gilly retire. Link to comment
Grim Reaper
I would love to see Sachin come back for one for bat against them. Do you guys think he'll be able to play that long? We wants to play until 2011 world cup which I hope he is able to do, if so he may just have a chance in playing another tour there. Link to comment
Rajiv
..but then our juniors will become seniors by that time and we will see Shaun Tait ( another one, coz this one was a phaddu ) with Dhoni's, Chawlas, Rahanes etc.. same thing must have been said when Kapil, sunny must have played their last there Link to comment
Ram
Sachin, if handled carefully, can easily play till he is 40. Think of it this way. In the calender year 96, Sachin played 32 ODIs and scored 1600 runs. 11 years later, he played 33 ODIs and scored 1450 runs. Contrary to popular belief, Age != Degradation of capabilities. Besides, the modern trend is for most players to play well past their mid 30s. Many players like Hayden, Symmonds, Langer have found their calling well into their 30s. Sachin is still only 34, I would give his international career a MINIMUM of 3-4 years. If anything, Sachin is looking the best he has done 3-4 years, IMO. His handling of pace, be it in this series, or against Pak has only confirmed that all is well with him. What cant be stressed enough is the fact while others are generally good batsmanship in exhibition, Sachin is a Genius on show. Unlike other batsman, he choses his form. The mere fact that he seems as effective today, as he did one decade ago, is proof positive for that. However, one thing that we should all keep in mind is for how long Sachin will be able to keep up his unstinted love for the art of batting. After all, ultimately, he is also human and is subject to the same vagaries as any other normal person. Beyond a point, all the incessant traveling, staying away from family/kids will become too much for anyone, to the extent where it will become an unbearable burden for him. But such is his love for the game that we can expect him to take longer to get into that phase compared to other batsman. After all, the little master has lived cricket all his life. Every sinew that wraps around his bones, every vein that runs across his body, has the name cricket inscribed on them. He doesnt know anything else ! P.S - I have gone so senti that I dont feel like having dinner tonight. Damnn !:((:(( Link to comment
Anakin
SRT can play for 3-4 more years if he cuts down ODIs drastically or all together. Link to comment

Desi Cartman
. Frankly, did anyone see Pollocks retirement coming? I think Pollock would have played for another season at least but the selectors were ignoring him and forced him to retire. Link to comment
Mandrake
All good things have to come to an end....even if a couple of the big boys manage to continue for a few more years, its almost certain we won't see Sachin,Dada,Kumble,Dravid and Laxman playing a test down under together again. Its sad....an era is ending.Hope we square the series in Adelaide and make this last test really memorable. Link to comment
