Rahane has been averaging 31 since England series

Rahane will average the most in South Africa, England and Maybe even in Australia. This guy should be rested against SriLanka ODIs to get his mind on track and work on his weakness.

Rahane doesn't want to or is too embaressed to break Don's record, so he chose to lower his ave as he is going to tour SA, Aus, Eng soon, on a serious note, he shouldn't be playing ODI at all, is hurting his game n rhythm also hurting the team.

Should be replaced by Rohit Sharma in the playing 11, atleast we can hope that Rohit will play one magical innings out of 5 in tests, but I have no hopes from Rahane at all, his body language is poor, those eyes say it all when he gets out, he looks completely out of sorts. I firmly believe that if you cant score runs at home, then you cant elsewhere. He had  a good away season last time and that's the only thing that has kept him in the team, but times have changed, opposition will come better prepared for him, so taking rahane to SA will be a huge risk imo.
