That's a blatant mis-characterization of what I wrote. Its just 'business' right? If ECB is free to act in its interests, at the expense of the BCCI. So is the BCCI. The ECB could have easily worked out a mutually acceptable situation with the BCCI. It chose not to. It chose to make a power play, because it sensed the opportunity that existed due to the internal turmoil that the BCCI was dealing with. You makes your choices. And you pays the price. That's all. Just as the ECB did what it could to buy support for the changes it wanted, the BCCI is also free to exercise the leverage it possesses. ECB or ill-informed fans like you shouldn't then start whining about it, when the shoe is on the other foot. Edited December 13, 2017 by sandeep

Few people are aware that Bangladesh was given opportunities to play in Ranji Trophy multiple before they got 'test' status. And neither do people realize how much BCCI has helped the toygers by playing a ton of LOI cricket hosted in Bangladesh - bilateral series, repeated Asia cups, you name it - BCCI could have easily used its influence to host bulk of those multi-lateral tournaments, but it passed it along to BD, which is essentially a massive infusion of cash into the BD board's accounts. Speaking of Asia cups, the number of times I've seen our team play in SL and Bangladesh for unnecessary bilateral series, triangular SINGER/KITPLY CUPS & the Asia cups in the last 2 decades seriously pisses me off. India don't wanna host Pak for the upcoming Asia cup. So again it would be either SL or Ban. For the love of God,please play somewhere else but not in these 2 countries.

I want the BCCI to host the upcoming Asia Cup. And let PCB know that they can participate if they want. Up to them if they want to show up. One clever move that the BCCI could pull, is that declare this Asia Cup being hosted on behalf of Afghanistan - let them get a majority share of revenue - after hosting expenses. Help the up and coming Afghans, and put the greenbros in a bind. But the BCCI is too busy fighting amonst themselves and playing hide and seek with the Lodha commission. All great sports leagues across the world are recognizing the importance of expansion beyond national borders, even the US-based ones that don't really need to for financial reasons. That will be a step in right direction. First step should be increase domestic teams to arounf 16 and do expand it like you mention. There should be exhibition matches in England and Australia. It should all be done in a grand scale. I know lot of people will disagree but Lalit Modi was a visionary and I wish they would resolve their differences and get him back.

Well our dear neighbors know when to attack or when to be kind with BCCI. They are well aware of the ongoing tussle, that's why Sethi and Sheharyar made multiple trips to India in the past with a begging bowl. BCCI must be stern with them and I wish they host the Asia Cup irrespective of Pak's concerns. They too are not in a position to negotiate, we have to put forth few options to them if they agree then fine. If not, then who cares. When 2010 spot fixing scandal emerged, Ejaz Butt then PCB president accused the English players of throwing the match the whole ECB board/players retaliated and threatened this good for nothing ex player of consequences. Then this loser had to withdraw his comments and claim that he was misunderstood. Even now after the FTP proposal the Pak fans and the media are lambasting BCCI of hurting Pakistan's interests. If there are less number of matches between PAK VS NZ or PAK VS AUSTRALIA or PAK VS SA in upcoming future then how is BCCI responsible. Isn't that decision taken by individual boards and with whom you have to play? If Pak team is getting even less matches in near future than SL, Ban, Zim it is due to f***** up planning of PCB babus. They have played only SL in about 6 and a half months after winning the CT until their next assignment in NZ, that's great scheduling.Bravo.
carnish Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 So, by any chance anyone here knows details of all series India is supposed to play according to the proposed FTP?? I have been hearing a lot of comments that they have kept gaps to accommodate Pakistan games if government agrees and this looks like a bad idea as we all know that is not going to happen anytime soon.. we should ideally look to give some games to the newbies or even zimboks and bengalis during this time and help them gain valuable experience..Heck even a series against the dutch won't be so much of a bad idea.. this will also be taking further the claims of Mr. Johri about bcci helping spread the game with nothing but one test against Afghanistan. What do you guys think??
Khota Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I agree that India should not play Pakistan till they drastically modify their behavior. I dont see that happening soon. Pakistan is all about getting Indian money. They dont want peace. If Zimbabwe was giving them money they would play with them. They have no principle. Greedy.
