CT was not in the last 7 months, besides he is dropped from ODIs/T20s. He has outbowled their spinner and picked up 7 wickets, scored more than some of our specialist batsmen. How has he done nothing in the last 7 months?

Bhuvi is a champion bowler and batsman in Tests.

I am not comparing him with their spinners. Those are bad spinners. I want to compare him with our spinners. There are plenty of options now.

We played 2 test series' against Lanka after CT, he was top wicket taker in both. He bowled well in the 2 tests here in SA, was unlucky. Maharaj is a gun spinner in those conditions, played a big role in SA series wins in NZ and Aus, so outbowling him so comprehensively isn't a bad feat at all. I am ok if you prefer some other spinner but stating that Ashwin has done nothing in the last 7 months is devoid of facts.

If other spinners woud have been given a chance they would have done equally well or better. He is one of the top 5 spinner in India right now. No way he should be an automtic selection.
