Cricketics Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Gautam Gambhir is the name folkz.. watch out.. all criticized him and he came strong and made most runz for the Indian team during 2020 wc.. now he will do it agian.. this time in 50 over format.. watch out
Mr. Wicket Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 There's a difference between Twenty20s and ODIs and tests. Gambhir's streaky, throw the bat attitude clicks better in T20s. His loose technique against the swinging ball, the short ball and an attack outside his off stump will never be tested in T20s, even if they may be in ODIs and will certainly be in tests. Pick him for T20s, and nothing else.
Cricketics Posted January 29, 2008 Author Posted January 29, 2008 i am not saying he is good in 20 format hence he would score.. i just gave an example.. he should come good in 50z too.. a great strike rotator.. .. just wait..
bunny Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 If he tries to score in T20 style he might score a quick 20-30 from where he can then build his innings. If he tries to construct an innings from the startup he is gonna get out without scoring much. Also, looking at his career ODI record he is just not cut out to bat at #3. Hoping he settles this debate big time, i.e., either he scores a couple of hundreds or has a miserable series so that he is dropped once and for all.

Numerous are the times where GG has oscillated in form. I hope one way or another it gets decided in this series whether he is cut out for ODIs or not.
Anakin Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I'm one of the critics and I don't have much faith in him for ODIs.
bigdhoni7 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 i'm also one of those critics too but i have slightly softened my stand on gambhir ever since the t20 wc. he really impressed there with his maturity and aggressive intent. too bad we can't say the same about his odi career especially when he comes in as an opener. he always fails.
fineleg Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 ^^ Yes, I'm unable to decide on GG - I think he deservez this series to show hiz skillz. He showz it here, or failz and then packed out of ODIs for the next few yearz. Apart from Ticz - does anyone elze believe GG is gonna do super in Aus ODIs? (thiz post is cuztomized for ticz' eazy reading comfortz ofcourze)
The Outsider Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I'll be surprised if he crosses 30 during the entire series.
Anakin Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 watch out for raina guys....:yay:Lost faith in that little dude too
IndianRenegade Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Reports are that Manoj Tiwary would be added as a 17th member in the ODI squad!

chanakya Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Reports are that Manoj Tiwary would be added as a 17th member in the ODI squad! good I want to see if his bat is as big as his mouth
Dooks Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 My money is on Rohit Sharma. He looks good and will replace the WALL in the tests. Certainly better than Yuseless in tests. Must Yuseless for ODIs and T20 only. He will do well in tests when playing in the sub-continent phattas.
Cricketics Posted February 3, 2008 Author Posted February 3, 2008 made 39 today, still ended up scoring most runz in this first odi.. 39 was the highest score of the game...
