Uthappa kept shuffling to the off almost every delivery like he did in the subcontinent. He did get out LBW quite a few times that way in the Future cup in India. Am disappointed that he hasnt learnt much from his failures in India. Aussie bowlers wont leave his weakness unexploited. Uthappa is a useful slogger on flat tracks. I wont play him in these conditions. Raina for Uthappa.

But have you ever played cricket and batted at seven or eight, chasing a total? It is not an easy and sometimes you have to play silly shots to prevent the RRR piling up.

Please...we have seen matches where such situations have occurred...both when India have batted and other teams have batted. This was really bad. This shot (after already trying two or three hit-and-miss in the SAME over by RU) cannot be termed as anything other than harakiri

Got to agree that Utappa is a FTB . He needs to start playing in the back foot if he has to succeed in these sort of pitches...

More than improving his technique off the backfoot, Uthappa needs some brain on loan from Afridi. The way he was slogging with 50 runs required one thought he was planning to score them all in one over.

he should open rather, which he used 2 do when he made his debut coming at 7, pressure cooker situations, one can't do much he can open with sachin, gambhir back to one-down(if sehwag isn't there) or xclude him for piyush chawla
