Overall, this is the best team India can field. Batting all the way to #9 with serious hitters in Chahar in there. Considering it's in England, there is absolutely no need for midget Chahal.

 

Jadeja + Chahar >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Chahal + Pandya

 

Jadeja is a way better batsman and fielder than Chahal and at wort equal in bowling.

Chahar is way better bowler than Pandya and almost equal in batting

 

Chahar can bowl 8-10 overs striaght up which gives you flexibility to use Bumrah and Bhuvi. Jadeja and Kudleep are banks and Jadhav a surplus like he should be. With Pandya there is no way you get 10 overs out of him

 

This XI gives us depth in batting, bowling and is filled iwth players who have winning mentality that is needed in major tournaments as seen in the recent Asia cup success

 

Bench

 

Raina is a big game player and so is Ashwin. Rohit is a flop against anyone that swings it a bit and English pitches will swing a bit so he can be on the bench. 

You have got a good sense of humor.. no way Rohit is getting benched.

 

England odi pitches are pancakes . Zero swing. You require 350+ scores . Pandya is lock.

Lets be realistic. We are playing limited overs cricket where we require more than specialist.

If we want any serious chance in world cup 19 then, Rohit, Kohli,Dhawan,Rahul, Pant, Kedhar All need to become a match winner with bat and give 3+ match changing(wicket taking) deliveries per match.

Right now, Kedhar can do Yuvi with ball, but nowhere close Yuvi with Bat.

 

Dhawan can do a GG but rest cannot even throw pies. Kohli should try wicket to wicket ball like Ganguli, KLR should try some spin in nets and get used to batting at 3 or 4.

 

Pant is just 20% close to Old Dhoni with gloves and also nowhere close to Dhoni with Bat. Too young to expect any cricketing brain input during match.

 

 

 If Smith/Warner is back in Ausiie side, Then I can say England, Australia,Bangladesh, South Africa and may be Pakistan, All of them have a chance to score over 300 against us simply because our bats cant do a Sehwag/Sachin/Yuvi with ball and we have no one like MSD to finish it off.

Our only saving grace is Our pacers and KD. They are miles ahead of our previous bowling attack
