Joe Root, the England Test captain, warned David Warner that he could face a hostile reception from the English fans, if the Australian opener gets picked for the World Cup and Ashes to be held in England next year.

 

 

Warner, who is currently serving a 12-month ban in relation to the ball tampering incident that took place in South Africa, will be available to play for Australia just before the World Cup.

 

 

"I'm sure he will have to accustom himself to what might be a slightly hostile environment from the English public, but we'll have to wait and see what happens when he comes over in the summer, if he does," said Root. "I wouldn't wish that upon anyone, but time will tell as to what happens in the future."

 

 

Warner recently also walked off in a Sydney Grade Cricket game when he was sledged by Jason Hughes, the brother of Phillip Hughes, who passed away in a tragic on-field incident in 2014.

 

 

He was batting on 35 at that time, but later returned after his teammates convinced him to continue his innings. Eventually, the southpaw batsman went on to score a hundred.

 

 

Root noted that he never felt the need to leave the field due to verbal abuse. However, he declined to make a comment on whether it was right on the part of Warner to walk off the field.

 

 

"You don't know what was said and you don't know what was involved and what happened out there," said Root. "It is something you don't see very often, but unless you know exactly what went on out there you can't say if it was a justified thing or not."

Warner I think is not really liked by most of them if you read about Smith players like Broad or Anderson have said that he is genuinely nice guy.

Root should first start thinking about being competitive and then about these secondary things.

 

Australia have been competitive in last both Ashes played in England..While England have been totally opposite.
