Mr. Wicket
A ridiculous comparison. He's a superb wicketkeeper, an outstanding ODI batsman and far more dangerous in that form than Sehwag. A far better player in that form for sure. On the other hand, he's got a few limitations in tests and is a good batsman in that form at best, not a world beater who can frighten any attack in the world. Link to comment
ludhianvi
he hit a lot of consecutive sixes yesterday. Kolkata has a good wicketkeeper then. Link to comment
Cricketics
WHATEVER IT IS.. I SEE HIM AS A STROKERMAKRE SIMILAR TO SEHWAG.. NOT ONE OF THOSE WHO TRYEZ TO STAy around and play out middle overz.. goez bang in power playz.. just like sehwag.. Link to comment
Dhondy
That was brutal, what he did to England, and particularly Anderson. Haven't seen such unbridled aggression for a while. Link to comment

Ram
Bah, even Klusener made international attacks run for safety at one point. Do any of us refer to him as a great batsman ? Not comparing McCullum to Klusener by any means, but lets a wait a little while before fearing him. Though, his innings against the English yesterday was violently brutal. Those three consecutive sixes of Anderson... Phew ! Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Agree, Sriram. When McCullum averages even 45 in tests consistently and builds up a few truly outstanding innings in a variety of conditions, we'll start this hype. This is no better than the idiotic "Next Ambrose" crap the English fostered upon Harmison following one good season, or the number of bowlers who were prematurely anointed as the next phaaaaassht boiling hope in Pakistan after one brief blitz of speed. Ram
McCullum has threatening for a while now. His recent success shouldnt come as too much of a surprise to fans who understand his talent and what he he is capable of. Looks as though he is in that zone now, a zone in which the ball leaves the bat faster than it impacted it. For sure, he will be in my " Top 5 most dangerous one-day batsman" list right now. Cricketics
who has compared him in tests.. in OP.. u can see only ODI mentioned.. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Well, what's Sehwag done in ODIs for some time now to deserve comparison to McCullum? In that form, both have plenty of potential, but McCullum's the only one actually turning it into runs on a regular basis. Link to comment
Cricketics
of late nothing really sehwag would done.. but then we are not talking about averagez here.. we are talkiong about playerz class.. and when he batz.. he remindz me of that Sehwag of India.... whatever he has done of late doesn't matter.. At this rate, soon it will be, Sehwag = India's McCullum, for ODIs. Link to comment
King
McCullum is the new batting force in NZ in ODIs. He's very successful at the top of the order because he knows no other way to go out and bat. He's a natural stroke maker and a cheeky bat at that too. He will not be consistent unfortunately but that is the trade off you get for blistering starts. More than anything he's under no pressure to score big every game. His spot in the team is for granted and unlike in India just because he fails in a series he is not going to be dropped. Sehwag would have been great in ODIs too but frequent shafting of him from the ODI team hasn't helped his confidence. If he were told to just go out there and blast away without worrying about being dropped Sehwag will be far more effective. Indian cricket public wants Sehwag to score at more than run a ball and also want him to churn 100s. That simply isn't going to happen. Gilly was quite successful in ODIs at the top because he had a free reign. Link to comment
Dravid
mccullen is a better hitter then sehwag.. Link to comment
guju24
amazing player...some good hitting...it donesnt look blind hitting...i would say there is no comparision between sehwag and mccullum....both have different techniques and different shot selection... Link to comment
