zen
@Nikola appears as if you support Aus (Ind most ppl support here). It has a good chance too if it plays well .... There are quite a few good teams so they all have a chance In my book, I think Eng, WI and NZ will do well if they play to their potential with ful strength / sorted sides and handle pressure well. They have the power game for good batting conditions, and a good mix of useful bowlers .... Remember this is a new tourney with teams starting fresh and expected to be at full strength As for Ind and Aus, Ind’s batting does not inspire enough confidence atm (and good batting sides can handle our bowlers well), while Aus batting is inconsistent too. But of course, it does not mean they cannot pick up their game, which is why have them competing for last 4 spots as well At WC, less fancied Ind won in ‘83, Aus in ‘87, and so on. Kenya made it to SF in 03. SA in 92 in its first WC. So it depends upon how teams are playing in a tourney (and not necessarily based on past patterns unless you are an ATG side like WI or Aus of the past) Edited March 1, 2019 by zen Link to comment
Sooda
Rohit, Shikar, KL, Virat, Shankar, Hardik, Dinesh, Bhuvneshwar, Kuldeep, Chahal, Jasprit Link to comment
Moochad
I like the XI we played today, except replace Jadeja with Pandya. Batting down to 8. Problem is no Chahal so we are missing one of our 4 big wicket takers. It will be a tough decision for Kohli wether to have the extra batting or have the extra wickettaking bowler Link to comment
diehardpacer
Rohit,Dhawan,KL,Kohli,Pant,Jadhav,Dhoni,Kuldeep,Chahal/Bhuvi,Shami,Bumrah Middle order looks good enough to score aggressively.Pant & KL should be given chances in the remaining games.Only 5 bowlers in this combo. That means Jadhav will have to bowl full quota, which would be good to see how he fares. Shankar's bowling is not good enough & it's too late to improve his bowling. Edited March 3, 2019 by diehardpacer Link to comment
zen
In the remaining games would prefer to see KL and Pant open to observe how are they perform .... KL showed good hitting form in T20s, while Pant is a naturally aggressive player who can be destructive with field restrictions on and can run away with the game Edited March 3, 2019 by zen Link to comment
zen
Painful to see Ind field a near full strength at home and still struggle to beat a relatively young Aus side, which could have won both games it lost with more focus Link to comment
zen
'Don't want to see any more collapses' - Virat Kohli What contingency plans does Ind have? Can overlook not trying KL and/or Pant as openers at its own peril .... In WC do not want to be in a situation where you have lost the first couple of games, past the best players are not clicking, and then the burden is passed on to youngsters Link to comment
zen
The young Kangaroos mauled team Ind. Won the T20 series and have taken the ODI series to the final game by outplaying Ind in the last two games In the final game at Delhi, Aus could try to accommodate both Stoinis and Turner, both of whom have had a good series so far .... Ind would need to play more positively. Having both Rohit+Dhoni on batting friendly surfaces can be suicidal. With Dhoni rested, focus would be on Rohit Edited March 11, 2019 by zen Link to comment
