philcric
So, in the KKR game, from both teams .. pacers ... 18-0-248-2 ... RR 13.8 spinners ... 21-0-160-6 ... RR 7.6 KKR bowled 14 overs of spin and 6 overs of pace. RCB bowled 7 overs of spin and 12 overs of pace. KKR bowled out their 3 main spinners and extra 2 overs from their part timer. RCB bowled only 7 spin overs out of possible 12 at their disposal. The best bowler in the game Negi did not finish his quota. Of course these things are not linear and may not exactly work the way the stats suggest, still there was such an obvious pattern and so much of it suggested that spin be used much more, at least throughout the middle overs. Virat is a terrible captain in IPL in many ways, from player retention to player development to off field strategies to on field captaincy. SK_IH
What about the biggest freeloader i.e. Kirsten, what's his contribution to the setup. One can definitely say Virat has bigger responsibility as an Indian captain and is extremely busy throughout the year, so he might not have been that much involved in making the team. But what can be Kirsten's excuse? Better coaches like Moody and Fleming have made strong contributions in shaping their sides but RCB still has age old problems, looks like he had no real thought process of his own during the auction.
