I except Bumrah to be economical as a) he is a good bowler, b) teams will play him relatively carefully to not give him wkts, which means he will have to work harder for wkts

Again he just got one wicket but bowled his heart out. Average for the game shows 44 run per wicket as been the case through out the world cup but he has been our best bowler overall who has been unlucky to get wickets.

Thats been the case through out the world cup, where he has bowled his heart out on flat tracks.

People currently respect Bumrah already for what he has done in the past but in general, when a new bowler comes in and fails to show much wickets, he gets wild comments from fans. But fans need to realize bowling average in particular in LOI cricket is over rated.

Economy Rate etc are more vital now days. Bumrah helps take other bowlers get wickets many times.

This is nothing to take away anything from Shami who took fifer but in a whole general scenario, sometimes your best bowlers will often be watched so much by the opposition that your best bower might not get the wicket. Harsh truth about the game.

Reminds me of Ishant Sharma at Trent Bridge in 2014, possibly in top 2 spells bowled by him and better than his spells vs Aus early in his career. He brought out life from the pitch which even the best bowling unit at that time Anderson and Broad were struggling to do.

That was a good spell but it was his honeymoon period too, high confidence and everything in rhythm. In 2014 he had to lift himself up as a bowler.
