I am not really surprised by this exit. Whoever followed Indian cricket closely knew what is India's weakness 

1) Top Order inability to survive any type of swing

2) Kohli as Dumb & Defensive Captain, not being able to attack with pace (Shami Exclusion) 

3) Dhoni wasting too many balls

4) Karthik/Rayadu/Vijay wasted slot

 

 

All is not lost, there is so much  to look forward ahead, given we have good batsmen waiting to given a chance. They do need a good captain in charge, i would say choosing someone like Rohit to carry team for 2023 would be best decision in sight. I have no doubt we will do really well in 2023 given we give someone smart the charge.

No introduction of Gill, sacking of Kohli as captain, fast tracking of young quicks is going to be coming.
