Its also not true that they have not shed leaders. Chagan Bhujbal, Ganesh Naik, Narayan Rane Raj T etc etc the list is long. They have been shedding leaders since the 90s. The only reason why they did not shed to BJP is cause they were in alliance. But the entire Sena operation in Viderbha or whatever is left of it will eventually be with BJP. I would also say BJP reigned in Narayan Rane in Konkan else he would have heavily impacted Sena there. If Sena shift to the right, the congress will lose to AIMIM in places like marathwada etc. There is also an issue of Thakarey being too mumbai centric which will impact the Congress the most in viderbha. They have close to 15 out of 44 MLAs from there. Then there are events such as Sharad Pawar passing away due to old age etc. He is a multiple stroke victim. Literally a few months in jail and it will be Jayalalitha 2.0. NCP in which case will be split between the Ajit Pawar and Supriya Sule factions. Point is there is a lot to play for still. Probably 6 months if what BJP will give this formation before they launch an attack.
G_B_ Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 The BJP local unit immediately need to do two things (a) Give Narayan Rane a good post in CG and give him a free hand in Konkan. It is important that the BJP breaks the Sena here. BJP base in Konkan is heavily dependent on Rane (b) Start funding Raj T to ensure the Sena vote is heavily cut in the mumbai konkan nashik belt. MNS has faced a cadre level depletion to Sena in the last 4-5 years. Reserve that and ensure that Raj is able to put up a fight. The problem the BJP faced was none of NCP Congress or Sena were below 30. The smaller chunk these parties were easier it would be to break them post poll. Pick one of these parties to ensure you whittle them down. I think the Sena who will face most of incumbency in any poll whenever it happens is the best candidate for that. FischerTal 1
