He just said Pant has his own unique identity and shouldn't compare himself to Dhoni and put pressure on himself. He also said he believes him to be a "supreme talent" along with KL.

 

Cut the guy some slack.

Pant should feel insulted if anyone compares him to Dhoni, he's already done more than Dhoni outside Asia

MSK Prasad, the Kohli yesman, was the main reason why Kohli could pick and droll our talented youngsters at whim. Kind of things after the 2019 WC he said about Pant were atrocious - questioning his attitude, mocking him copying Dhoni's mannerisms (not exactly sure what he saw) and obviously publicly criticising Pant's contributions. If he was a TV pundit and said those things, it wouldn't have been an issue, but for the chief selector (and being the most incompetent one ever to have held that post), there has to be a better way to give feedback to an upcoming youngster.

 

He was part of the diabolical plan to derail Pant as Kohli-Shastri were keen to ensure Dhoni played 2020 T20 WC in Australia.
