WC farewell is a ploy for has beens to prolong their career. The selectors should drop anyone - regardless of their legend status if they are not in good form. Ideally, one should be retired/dropped 2 yrs before a major event if unlikely to play that event. 2 yrs gives enough opportunity to groom the replacement
