graphic23 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Sir Viv Richards without a doubt. The most dominating #3 batsman ever. The best too. Once when Jeff Dujon gave an interview he said that when Sir Viv came to bat, fielders usually used to move backwards a little rather than move forwards.
umpire Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Viv should come at 4. My pick will be Lara followed by Sir Viv
King Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Ricky Ponting for no.3, Viv Richards for no.4 and Brian Lara for no.5 for me.
Laaloo Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 1. sachin 2. gilly 3. viv 4. (gulp..gulp.....inzi..) 5. Lara so numero tres would be sir viv richards
The Outsider Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 The poll has some really confounding choices - Gibbs, Miandad, Pietersen, Richards, Dravid didn't play much at number 3. In fact, Lara also played at 4-5 for most of his career. It basically comes down to Ponting and Dean Jones and will have to go with Jones for the fact he was so much ahead of his times as an ODI player.

Dravid though, according to this seems to have batted most of the times at #3. Similar analysis to Viv shows the same as well. KP, I know bats at #4 in Tests and even in ODIs, because Ian Bell bats at #3. Gibbs as far as I can remember is an opening batsman(?). I still hold my vote for Viv. But I guess if we decide that he comes at #4, then Rahul Dravid would be my choice for #3.
Desi Cartman Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 will Viv richards be an option in the poll for #4 ... if not then I would rather have him @ 3 than RP (for whom I voted)
