IPL ALL-TIME INDIAN XI - the best 11 locals. Can they beat the foreign XI?

In response to the all time foreign XI, there had to be an all time Indian XI. Much more difficult to choose, because we have more choices. But after thinking about this, i went with:

  1. Virat Kohli

  2. Gautam Gambhir

  3. Suresh Raina

  4. Rohit Sharma - captain

  5. Rishabh Pant

  6. MS Dhoni+

  7. Hardik Pandya

  8. Harbhajan Singh

  9. Jasprit Bumrah

  10. Bhuvneshwar Kumar

  11. R. Ashwin

A few unlucky misses like Amit mishra, who took lots of wickets on a crappy delhi daredevils team. But this is more or less, the best XI.

Maybe its too early for Rishabh pant or pandya, but I couldn't imagine an all-time XI without them. Pant has been a monster in the IPL, a perfect number 5. Pandya obviously a great lower-order hitter.

Difficult to match narine + malinga in economy, but Bhuvneshwar + ashwin isn't far away.

The big difference is in the lack of firepower in the middle order. Dhoni and pant are big hitters, but AB/Watson/pollard/russell are in a different league.

Does this team beat the foreign XI? what do you think

  1. Kohli
  2. KL rahul
  3. Raina
  4. Rohit (capt)
  5. Pant
  6. Krunal
  7. Pandya
  8. Ashwin
  9. Chahal
  10. Bhuvi
  11. Bumrah
  12. dhoni

Krunal over dhoni as 6th bowler is a must for me and krunal has been Excellent for MI and have troubled someone like ABDV  big time in IPL.

Dhoni if not captain looses some value but yea a very hard call

  1. Virat Kohli

  2. Shikhar Dhawan

  3. Suresh Raina

  4. Rohit Sharma - captain

  5. Rishabh Pant

Dhawan over KL rahul ??

KL with pant have been among the best in last 2 years

I have kept Krunal as 12th man coz 6th bowler is a serious issue with this line and Krunal has troubled big batsman in IPL specially ABDV...I need to drop one batsman for sure just cant decide which one

Yeah rahul was close, but i preferred dhawan.

Dhawan has been a heavy scorer since the very first season in 2008.

Why chahal over harbhajan or amit mishra? I never even thought about chahal.

lol, i just realized i forgot two time IPL winner Gautam gambhir.

and yusuf pathan, who's also a decent pick. maybe better than pandya.

yusuf was very inconsistent, liability on field he has dropped a ctach every match for KKR n SRH....pandya with ball has been better

Rayudu has been bigger IPL success then yusuf

Dhawan has played from season 1 but impact wise hasnt been great ...thats why has been thrown around franchise

yuzi ipl avg 23

mishra 24

bhajji 26

the guy bowls in chinnaswamy n has done well the toughest place still has better numbers and mishy has played a lot in delhi where pitches have been spin conducive . Never understood why ppl look down upon yuzi ....a spinner doing well in chinnaswamy is alreadya huge thing then his numbers are also better

Problem with mishy has been he mostly came in play in 2nd half of IPL when pitches start to turn

bhajji...coz i already had ashwin as offie

No leggie is a big no for a T20 game. Or an SLA is needed. Bhuvi, Bhajji are not big wicket takers and even Ashwin can be neutralised. Only strike bowler is Bumrah. Also Pandya as the third seamer/5th bowler is pushing it.

Well tbh no matter what team you pick they are no match for the foreigners. They are getting walloped.

KL Rahul vs Sunil Narine in T20s

Runs- 104

Balls - 45

Strike rate - 231.1

10 fours and 8 sixes

Complete destruction against one of the best T20 bowler

2012 waala narine would never get hit like that.

I didnt know yuzi had such a good average. always ignored him in RCB matches.

What about kumble? doesn't he have 5/5 and an IPL final appearance? maybe not enough games to qualify...but he would have been a great T20 bowler if he was younger
