deathmonger Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 We have had little contribution from both Shewag and GG in our recent away tours .. but here we have some fans proposing them as Dhonis replacement as captain. its alright if some of our legendry bats boost their avg on flat wickets ' date=' but if Dhoni does that it is a issue . :hysterical:[/quote'] i am worried about the batting. tendulkar should look to score big and along with ashwin and the tail's contribution we should aim at getting 250-320 in each match and then getting a 30-40 lead. then score 210-20 and give targets of 260-270. no 400+ 500+ scores coming this tour.

When things went in opposit direction these guys dont know how to show their frustration.. Some still blame Dravids slow batting and droped catch of hussey are main reason for this loss...
achilles Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 He should stick to playing ODIs and T20s. Time to give better batsmen like Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel the push.
peterparker Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 he loves one day cricket..this is confirmed now

peterparker Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 give him blue dress and he beocmes SPIDERMAN..
ganeshran Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 He should stick to playing ODIs and T20s. Time to give better batsmen like Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel the push. And have a ton of dropped catches per match
achilles Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 And have a ton of dropped catches per match  He's improved his keeping by leaps and bounds. The guy can bat if his life depended on it. Can Dhoni do that in Tests? No. How about Karthik? He's good, no? So why can't Dhoni play in the side as the Skipper and a limbu-timbu No.8 batsman and leave the gloves to others?
cowboysfan Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I have seen GG captain and he makes Dhoni looks like an Einstein.

Then he wont be able to retain his place in the side for long with his FTB batting and hes well aware of that . He is not a Sangakkara who can retain his place in the team inspite of giving up gloves , the only reason he continues to feature in the team without anybody calling for his head is because he is a keeper . Look at Kohli , failure in two innings and everyone wants him out , do you think Dhoni wont be kicked out if he played out as a batsman alone inspite of his 9 out of 10 batting failures ?

Still useless as both a keeper and a batsmen in away conditions. Wont do any better than Dhoni would as a batsmen. would probably get a 20 and get out. Karthik is another awful keeper. Though battingwise he would probably do better than Dhoni does in these conditions. Dhoni is not good enough to merit selection as a test batsmen alone and his keeping has been decent lately. He will leave the test team only if he resigns as skipper, till then the status quo will go on.
peterparker Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 his batting is suitable for one dayers..and he is best batter in one day cricket..but in test cricket..average
~ Miss Warner ~ Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I assume the captain won't be dropped in the near future, but what other options does India have for keepers? Who would be next in line for the test side if Dhoni was to be dropped? What ever happened to that Karthik guy? Does he still play or is he just crap these days?
BeautifulGame Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Anyone calling for Sehwag as captain because Dhoni struggles in tough away conditions are just stupid. Dhoni averages more nearly twice as much Sehwag in our last 3 tours away from sub continent(New zea land , South Africa and England). So if Dhoni a wicket Keeper should be dropped because he doesnt have the technique to play in tough away conditions how exactly does Sehwag can remain in the side? Mind u Dhoni still averaged similar to Sachin in England tour for all his struggles and still was one of our better batsman.
virufan Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I don't think Saha, Parthiv or Karthik can do any better. Dhoni is a better keeper than these guys. As far as batting is concerned, all the 4 will struggle on these Ausrtralia's bouncy tracks. Dhoni is a very defensive captain though. But who will replace Dhoni as captain? Viru is not mature enough to captain the side and all the seniors have declined captaincy. Some food for thought.
exams Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 i will keep dhoni even if he averages 15 throughout his career he is having same effect as tendulksr in prime on the team..

Karthik did well in SA and in England while Dropthiv had a decent series in Australia when he was just a kid (avg of 30 odd). Both can't catch the ball though.
The Dark Horse Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Dropthiv shouldn't be anywhere near the team as of now, was given many opportunities but floundered. Better get karthik who was shunted for no reason in ODIs after WI series, inspite of many umpiring decisions going against him.. Or even we can try Saha.
Cricket Tragic Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Karthik hasn't been in great form in FC cricket. He is a gutsy player though and has made runs in tough conditions. His keeping on the other hand...
The Dark Horse Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 He just made a 150. Cant have a say on his keeping unless we actually see it.
