Predator_05 Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 (:((( I am really p issed off about this. I've had it for over 2 years, signed up March 9th '06 and there were tons of playlists, songs which i had stored on that account. I gave up using p2p just because of youtube, and now that account is all gone - permanently disabled. Why ? Because i uploaded some stupid video of today's Formula 1 race. How unfair is this ? I wouldn't even be complaining about this had i known that i was at risk of having my account permanently disabled - but the 1 or 2 copyright infringements i had received previously made no note of the number of "repeat incidents" that would it take to enforce a permanent ban. They just used some generic statement without any specifics. This is just total misinformation. I would never have uploaded the video had i known that i was just 1 infringement away from losing my account. Do you think they might restore my account if i bring this to their attention ?
Rajiv Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Youtube is a messiah of copyright infringement..too bad you became an example Although I have been through this from a different place, ask them a way to restore your vids. I know I was unsuccessful but you can give it a try
Predator_05 Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 Have you faced the same problem with youtube ? Did you at least get a response ? Yeah, i'll be dropping them a line for sure, but i am worried that my requests will be completely ignored To be honest Rajeev, i really don't care about the other videos i uploaded. I only uploaded 15, they can delete them all, if they like. I just want my account back (with favorites, playlists intact). The funny thing is that all the other videos i uploaed were also copyrighted material - the ESPN videos of Laxman's hundreds vs AUS, the Yuvraj Singh videos, the football videos were all directly recorded off numerous Chinese sports channels (which i stream). They all survived and got plenty of hits. How the hell do they decide which video is infriging and and which isn't ?
Holysmoke Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Never thought I'd see pred use :(( without being sarcastic.

This was a paid service but they couldn't handle the overwhelming clicks for cricket videos and booted me out without notice and all my videos ( pre 2006) were gone. They did, however; refund my money. You posted something which was probably under their radar and its a case of bad luck. I think someone must have complained
Ram Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I dont understand, they could have just removed the copyrighted videos, instead of deleting the account itself. Removing accounts isnt going stop someone who wants to upload copyrighted videos.
Sachinism Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 for a moment i thought it was the indiancricketfans account nearly had a heart attack
